If you want to save some money, this place is for you. It was within walking distance to McGill and Old Montreal. It has everything you need: bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. It has a full size fridge. My husband decided to tag along on my trip with my daughter. There was plenty of room for 3 adults. The...

If you can get past the alternating putrid smells: feces, onions and on the departing day, piss, continuous noise pouring through paper-thin walls, the lack of service (actually non-existent), the grime in the bathroom and coming back from dinner to a man wearing your clothes and stuffing the remainder into your backpack before taking flight this may be your weekend...

Location is great on Sherbrooke Street just west of St Laurent with a late night Pizzeria right beside it for the post Crescent munchies. CheckIn was a bit creepy with various folks saying the main guy would be back soon...? Thank god for pre-paid rooms. Parking in a tiny building behind and I wasn't going to put my sports car...

Staying at the Majestic was overall a nice experience. Seems to be an apartment complex converted to a hotel. I basically had a one bedroom apartment to myself for four days and nights. Pluses: full apartment with large appliances and dishes complete with Ikea furniture throughout, close to the street fair FroncoFilles in June, McGill University, scenic overlook nearby, etc....

Two friends and I stayed here for two nights. The place was difficult to find only because there is no sign indicating where the hotel is. We arrived two hours before check in but found out we cannot check in until check in time because there was no one there to check us in. It was fine though because we...

There is no "staff" since there is no lobby. The gentleman who checked me is was very pleasant but was not at the property - he I think was somewhere nearby - contact by phone call. The room was clean but the furniture had stains - which makes me uneasy about sitting on it. Given that it was about 9-14...

My friends and I decided to spend the New Year in Montreal and we are so glad we did. We stayed for 5 days at the Majestik. Our room was decently sized and fit three comfortably. We chose this hotel for the price (most of all) and location. It's a bit tricky to find, but after we did, we were...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
