Smaller local hotel placed quite central on small street. Nearby you will find all the big international hotels and shopping streets. The hotel have new renovated rooms with big beds and nice bathroom. Ask for room on 2st floor. In 1st floor it is much noise from reception and rooms on 2nd floor. Breakfast included - this is ....... Let's...

Great location on a quiet street near McGill, walking distance to the subway, restaurants and shops. We chose a first floor room, and still there were some stairs--first five steps up, and immediately another five steps down. A bit odd, but fit with the overall place. Old but very well kept building. Limited parking, which must be arranged at time...

When we arrived at the hotel we immediately liked it from the pavement and how centrally it was located in the downtown was great. We had a more basic room but it was equipped with everything we needed and it was generally clean but maybe just lacking some attention to detail with the cleanliness overall. We were on the third...

Hotel does exactly what it needs to. Rooms were basic but do exactly what they needed to - provide a comfortable place to sleep in a clean room. The staff were really helpful, with great suggestions on places to go. Good location to go exploring and fairly near a subway station. Breakfast was basic, but a good start to the...

Stayed for one night in this restored older building with a ton of character. Great location very close to Ste Catherine street and a 5-10 min walk to the Peel metro station. About a 15 min walk to the train station. Solid Continental breakfast included (strong hot coffee, teas, juices, sour dough bread / multigrain bread, apples, oranges, cereal, yogurt...

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and would love to host you again! Sorry about our grumpy guy; he's usually a lot more pleasant!

A rating of somewhere between two and three stars is right for this place-- closer to two stars, really, because this hotel is badly overpriced. This hotel really has only one thing going for it, its downtown location. If you want to be near Sherbrooke and the city's wonderful art gallery, the Amrbrose is well-placed on a side street. Other...

We're very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us, but do appreciate the review nonetheless. It's difficult to accommodate to all styles, and clearly, we weren't a great fit for you. We are a small family business, so we do our best, and don't intend to compete with more conventional hotels, and don't quite know where...

Beautiful quaint B&B. Location - right in the heart of downtown. Easy to walk to dinner, Metro, and sightseeing. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Isaac and Clementine really went out of their way to help us feel comfortable. If your luggage is heavy, you may want to request a ground floor room. There are no elevators.

I really liked staying at this hotel the location is central to pretty much everything. The staff were very friendly, the room was very clean, and the continental breakfast had a good variety of items. The only reason i gave this hotel a 4/5 was the parking area was very narrow and difficult to navigate when any other vehicle was...

Very happy to hear that you enjoyed you stay! Sorry you have trouble with the parking spot, and understand completely what you mean. We hope you visit again, and think you would agree that you definitely don't need the car next time.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast very good and well stocked. Toast, Coffee, Juice, Fruit, Cereal, Hot Tea. Quaint rooms, very clean and comfortable. AC and Heat worked wonderful as well as water temps. Walk out of the hotel and right down into the heart of the city. Close to all museums, restaurants, shopping, Metro, underground shopping. We...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
