Cozy, Charming Bed & Breakfast, with a typical French atmosphere, spacious room, commodities. A lot of antiques for décor, breakfast very copious and delicious. Very well located in the heart of Montreal and very close to the tourists attractions, a lot of shoppings center and an easy access to public transportation.

Not for the faint of heart, stairs are steep and narrow. However the house is true Montreal style from the the XIXth century. Within 5 minutes walk to metro Place des Arts and near many bus lines. I have stayed at this BB 5 times now and feel "at home". The owner Christian is an eccentric intellectual and makes an...

Hotels in downtown Montreal are ridiculously overpriced. So that led us to looking for b&b's. Alacoque ticks some good marks. Like free parking, downtown location, free wifi and breakfast and your own personal bathroom. The place itself is interesting with all it's decoration. But it could use some renovation. For example the door outside didn't close properly. And there was...

Frenhc is the official language in Quebec,I spend more time to speak with customers who spend more money and more nights to the B&B. To much time in the ''social media'' explain you are unsafe with yourself.

When we got at the hotel, we walked up the stairs and a woman opened the door (we thought she worked at the hotel and that she opened the door for us) so we went upstairs to check in. But there was noone. We went lookung and found the owner and said we had a reservation, but then he started...

You went in a 9.30 am in the morning no ring to the bell. You refuse to give your name and reservation paper:It is normal, it is security. A B&B is at first a private home. We need security for your self and others guest. Christian Alacoque

It's too bad to read all these great reviews since we were treated very badly by an irate host who told us he had no reservation, refused to look at our confirmation and when we picked up our bags (he reluctantly offered a room but by then we were spooked) he referred to us, out loud on the street as...

You refuse to have a look for a room for 3 peoples, this is your guest who decide to leave when you was taking care your car outside. But they never made any reservation by herself. If they don,t like the place, it is your respisability.

The very disheveled and grubby host lost our reservation (it was for 3 women) and told us someone would have to sleep in the backyard. When we attempted to show him the reservation on our phone he refused to look at it. When we told him we were leaving because of his rudeness he came out on the street after...

As other reviews note, this is a place to stay for the adventurous. Christian is a generous and hardworking host. His breakfast is the epitome of locally sourcing...he is the source. Homemade yogurt, homemade jams and marmalades, eggs with a flourish, and robust coffee. I simply couldn't get enough of the orange jam, which includes the outer skin in a...

Christian was an extremely helpful and gracious host, and my mother and I had a lovely stay at his B&B. We originally were planning on being there for only a couple of days but extended it to a week and wished we could have stayed longer. The B&B itself is fascinating--extremely creatively decorated and filled with antiques and memorabilia. The...

My wife and I visited Montreal for 2 days in late August to take in this great city. Christian's B and B is perfect for this. As others have said, the old townhouse is filled with art and esoteric collectibles and shows care in the furnishings. This may not be for everyone but we are in the contingent that loved...

I was visiting McGill in the fall for three weeks and chose alacoque bed and breakfast thanks to its central location and very reasonable price. I am very happy that I selected this warm and inviting place! Not only that the location is fantastic - close to the metro, museums, shopping centers and good bars and restaurants, it also offers...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
