Our room was up a flight of stairs and spacious. I had to call and ask for assistance for turning on the air conditioning as all the windows were closed and the room was stuffy. Sometime in the middle of the night it became evident to me why the windows were closed as I was awakened by the train whistle...

My husband and I stayed here for four nights as a romantic weekend away. We stayed in a room on the third floor, which was quiet and charmingly decorated, with a wonderful hot tub for two. The hotel is made up of older renovated homes and is definitely a "walk up." One disadvantage is that the hotel is right across...

This wonderful bed and breakfast is amazing. We rented the 2-room family suite. The rooms are big and the beds so comfortable. There is a huge bathroom with whirlpool bath in each room, and one room has a small terrace. It is beautifully appointed and kept immaculately clean. The breakfasts are so delicious and bountiful, we didn't even need another...

We stayed here for 2 nights in June at the beginning of our Canada trip. The B&B is located very conveniently in walking distance to shops and restaurants as well as right next to the subway station that connects you to Old Montreal. The room (702) was nicely decorated, but it was pretty small, a little bit cold (unfortunately it...

We stayed at Petite Auberge Les Bons Matins at the beginning and end of our trip to Canada and had a positive experience both times. Our first room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, although the bed was squeaky. On our second stay we were told that our room had been upgraded for free, and we ended up in a gorgeous,...

Are you planning a visit to Montreal but don't want to stay at the same old blah blah hotel chain? The Les Bons Matins is an excellent choice. The staff is welcoming and friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortably decorated with brightly painted walls and beautiful paintings and artwork, very homey. The breakfasts are excellent. The hotel is one...

My daughter and I just returned from a wonderful long weekend in Montreal. One of the highlights of our trip was this fabulous B&B. The staff were extremely helpful & courteous and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The decor is colourful and stylishly funky. The breakfast is just amazing. Most items are made from scratch...

my husband and i stayed here during our recent trip to montreal after reading several favorable reviews about it. from the moment we arrived we knew we made the right decision - the street that the b&b is located on is safe, easily accessible by metro, and quiet. the front desk employee was gracious and helpful in getting us situated...

My boyfriend and I spent two night at this bed and breakfast on the first leg of our Canada roadtrip. There are many pluses to staying here. First, it has convenient parking. If you are lucky enough to get street parking, it is free. They also have a parking lot directly behind the property for which they supposedly charge you...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
