Brilliant find. Lovely room with colourful paintings and prints (although not entirely sure about glass door in bathroom!) welcoming guy in front desk who explained lots about the city. Excellent breakfast with staff on hand to explain menu and self service part. Very friendly staff. Good location for shops and restaurants and just opposite the metro station to go downtown...

The hotel is great and in a very good location. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast is great, but for some reason they don't appear to have ventilation in the kitchen, I spend the rest of the trip with my coat smelling of food!

The Inn was just perfect. Parking is in the rear and places are limited - reserve parking at booking. The rooms are outstanding. The breakfast is excellent. The Auberge is a five minute walk to The Bell Centre and Canadian'sHockey games. Travel in and out and around Montreal is simple with the Metro across the street. When we go to...

I booked the family suite which was very reasonable, #801. There are two beds and plenty of room for multiple guests. There is a rather steep staircase to get up to the suite. Restaurants close by as well as a metro stop. They provide a very good and filling breakfast in a lovely room with excellent service. The rooms are...

I really enjoyed my one night stay here. I was in town for a concert at the Bell Centre (a 4min walk). The rooms are in a couple of the classic historic Montreal type home with a flight of stairs leading into the building. The room I was in was very spacious, had high ceilings, a balcony, nice furnishings, and...

We decided that this auberge is our home away from home Of course, when we aren't using it, you are welcome to stay there. Completely charming! Only downside was noise from the neighbours in the adjoining bathroom at 6 am (the auberge needs quiet hours), but delicious breakfast, comfortable and well appointed rooms, and terrific location.

Centrally located near the subway, main highways and the train station, the old brownstone B&B sits on a quiet one-way street near the center of Montreal. Charming would be the adjective that first comes to mind. Breakfast was served in a small dining area that was nicely furnished. The staff at the front desk and in the dining room were...

We had originally booked this hotel for the summer of 2015, but due to a flood at the hotel, they had to cancel the reservation. As compensation, we received a voucher for a deluxe room for our next time in town. We decided to use it to cap off our ski vacation in St Sauveur. We happened to arrive just...

Our room had exposed brick walls, sanded pine floors, a delightfully quirky ensuite washroom, and a garden door onto a wrought iron balcony. The bed was comfortable, the original art interesting, and the breakfast omelette superb. It's a stone's throw from Lucien L'Allier Metro station; we stayed overnight between train trips, and had no trouble taking our luggage from Gare...

Usually stay at the Queen Elizabeth when in Montreal but, fortunately for us it was closed for renos. This B&B was outstanding. We stayed in the deluxe sweet and found it very cozy and with plenty of space. Location to the Bell center is a 3 minute walk and is covered most of the way. A block up and your...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
