Amazing hotel. Rooms need update but if you pay for gold level, then you don't have to worry about it. We stayed in 17th floor and our room was right next to John Lennons room that goes like $1000 per night. Hotel connects to the metro - the best thing ever when it's so cold outside. Also hotel is right...

My daughter and I stayed during Christmas 2014. We had an amazing time, the location is so close to everything, the food in the Hotel was amazing. Our suite was roomy and so clean. We will be back again, the staff always called us by name and made us feel welcome.

First, avoid driving to this hotel if possible. Even when you know where it is situated, the parking is cramped, awkward and valet parking is the only available parking. There are no porters awaiting and it is quite a treck to the registration counter in the lobby. We had a regular room and a suite and both rooms need updating:...

We were in Montreal and Fairmont Montreal is our hotel of choice when we visit - we particularly stay there if we can to enjoy their breakfast. On the negative side, I parked my car using their valet service - my radio station was changed - I did not appreciate this - mention this to valet service if this is...

It wasn't bad, but I think for the same price next time I would book a smaller boutique hotel that includes wifi and breakfast in the price. It was a comfortable room though, with a great view. A pretty good value. The Keg is right across the street, and access to the underground mall and Eaton Centre, the Metro, train...

Rooms are adequate but outdated unless you stay in an updated room. Parking behind the hotel is reasonable with in and out privileges since there is no gate. Highly recommend the restaurants and facilities.

Excellent experience here - stepped off VIA train, up two escalators and checked in to city view room within 10 minutes on a cold December night. Staff was friendly, welcoming and efficient. Overall we were so pleased with location, bed comfiness, staff service and beautiful holiday decorations. We ate at two in-hotel venues and the food was reasonably priced and...

Good area for walking, history, shopping and convience to via rail train station. I also liked the underground shopping convience and various food outlets. The room was great could use more plug ins and I feel shouldn't pay for the Internet. Great experience and will come back.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
