I stayed at this hotel last week and was very comfortable and felt well taken care of. I was in a Fairmont View Room with 1 king bed. The bed was very comfy, nice linens and great cleaning service. The room was not huge, but...More

Was several years since I had stayed here for business. In the past always a restful oasis during a busy work schedule. The changes I experienced this week after the ownership changes and renovations are not conducive to a good rest. I will not be...More

My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth for a “couples getaway” and we were beyond impressed. The hotel wasn’t renovated...it was gutted and redone from scratch. Everything is new! The decor is absolutely stunning. We stayed on the gold floor, and...More
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young
professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.

Montreal has a great self rental bike service called Bixi. You can rent by the trip, hour, or Day. There are several pick up drop off stations all over the city. No need for a lock you just return the bike to the self serve stations. If you rent by the hour you are given a code to get another one when you need it. I think there is a rental location close to the hotel.
