We had a nice stay at this hotel again recently. The staff is friendly and attentive. The walk to shopping on St Catherine street isn't too far. We like the higher floors for better views of the city and the river. The hotel has plenty of elevators so being on an upper floor isn't inconvenient.

I stay at the Chateau Champlain whenever I am in Montreal for work. The staff of the hotel are fantastic, always helpful and very friendly. The breakfast buffet is delicious, although a little pricey at $26.00. There is a Starbucks in the hotel lobby which is always convenient. The valet service is seamless and very quick in the morning when...

Nice hotel in downtown relatively close and walking distance to old Montreal and other downtown locations. Hotel's features are old world but rooms are fine - standard Marriott quality. Views are good at higher floors and lounge is nice amenity. Bar restaurant has good selection and good enough food. Since it's an older building walls are thin so your next...

I recently stayed at the hotel while attending a trade show at Place Bonaventure. Sabrina who works as the Concierge was very helpful in recommending an amazing restaurant for a business dinner. Although they seemed to be short staffed she managed to handle all the calls and guest inquiries politely and professionally!

For those planning a long weekend in Montreal, the Marriott Chateau Champlain is convenient, comfortable, and a good choice. First things first; the bed. One of the best we've slept in with only minimal mattress depression from use. It makes all the difference for overnight recharging. The hotel is a block away from the Bell Centre and easy walking distance...

I called the hotel ahead of time to notify them of late arrival and make a few requests for my room. My call was met with disdain and annoyance. Customer service doesn't seem to be something they offer. So okay. Maybe I just got a bad person on the phone. Front desk arrival was the same attitude. I get the...

This hotel has very tiny rooms with even smaller bathrooms. There is a gym and one very small swimming pool. No whirlpool, sauna nor steam room. Parking is very expensive, located 5 levels bwlow ground and without in/out priveleges.

This is a very nice hotel and a great location to go out at night from. There is quite a bit located within walking distance, but the really nice thing is that the underground shops and subway are located under the hotel.

I would have given this hotelan average if it wasn't for the interaction with the kitchen manager. COMBATIVE and CONDESENDING would be the best descriptors of his demeanour. A 2-hour wait for any room service isn't reasonable, and especially not Nachos that don't even show up hot or with the correct toppings. Save yourself the trouble and go out or...

I have been staying in this hotel for Business. It is a nice hotel. Please ask the rooms with the city views. The Gym is also great. The swimming pool is not. In less than 3 minutes you have the Stadium of the Canadiens team of Hockey. Also, you have many bars and disco around the hotel.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
