What a beautiful hotel close to everything in downtown Montreal. The staff was nice and friendly and the Marriott beds are the best of any hotel chain. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Montreal. If you want to save a few dollars there are alternate places in the hotel that are much cheaper than the hotels...

As a frequent traveler around the world I have multiple experience of many hotels. It is the second time that I'm spending several nights at the Marriott Champlain and I would have scored even less for this hotel if it hadn't the nice view of Montreal and a compréhensif staff at the lobby. This valet parking is just a disaster,...

Hello Hughes S - Thank you for your comments and stay. Really appreciate your kind words regarding our lobby staff- this means a great deal to us. I apologize for failing to meet your expectations with the valet service, the room temperature and the Wifi. We will follow up with the services involved. May I suggest that you let us...

I've stayed here numerous times on business trips, but this was my first recreational visit to the hotel. The rooms are basic Marriott.....clean, cookie-cutter, bright. There's a nice ante room outside the bathroom with a coffee maker. No frig unless you ask for one, and no minibar. Nice amenities downstairs too. And it connects to the Underground City so in...

Recently stayed for a quick business trip. Wasn't in town long enough to really take advantage of the hotel but it certainly served it's purpose. It's centrally located, walking distance to St. Catherine Street Shopping, short cab ride (walkable but not a short walk) to Old Montreal, next door to the Bell Centre. There's a Metro stop directly linked to...

Well appointed property close to everything in Montreal. The rooms were very clean, the staff quite nice and the amenities great. The pub served good food, the salads were quite good. I certainly would recommend the hotel

I had a better stay here than last October, when I made my previous visit. The room, although dated, was nice and quiet (we were on the 19th floor facing the river) and the bed was very comfortable. I slept well and enjoyed my room service breakfast.

Classic feel of a classy hotel. Excellent customer service, and always a very nice room. Lucky to get upgrades every time I stay. Views from the room are spectacular and the connection to the underground path is very convenient.

I have not stayed at a Marriott for while but this property was disappointing. The hotel is very dated, in need of a renovation. In the room there is no bottle water available, not even for purchase. The lamp on the desk is actually glued down to the desk? For women the hair dryer looks like something you would find...

Recently stayed here with our family. Very pleased with the staff and service at this location. Ideal spot if you are seeing a game at the Bell Centre or would like to shop on St. Catherines. The room was very clean and included an amazing view of the city. I would equally recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Look...

As a hotel employee I understand that sometimes departments get closed early. Sure it's Saturday night and your colleagues want to go out or go home. But when I call 15 minutes before IRD is scheduled to close (as per your in room menu) at least lie to me or offer cold options as opposed to " my kitchen is...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
