We stayed in room 3 and thought this place was very nice, staff was helpful and called us to move our before any tickets could be given. A wonderful change of scenery from sterile hotels. This B&B has lovely, cozy accommodations, excellent, friendly staff, all the amenities a traveler needs and a central location within walking distance of Metro. Wonderful kitchen on the main floor with tea and cookies available until midnight. Wonderful breakfast! Would back here for business or pleasure without hesitation.

This review is long overdue. We stayed at the Auberge last March break after friends recommended it to us. Our room was on the top floor and had a double bed and a divan-lit for our son. The staff were absolutely fantastic! Tarik was so helpful and suffered professionally and without complaint through my awful attempts to speak French. He...

Loved everything about this hotel . Charming, great staff, healthy breakfast and comfortable rooms all in a great location right across from the park and waking distance from shops, restaurants . We drove from Boston and were able to park on the back alley .

Great week long stay! Our room was very spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning! On New Year's Eve morning and New Year's Day, the breakfast included Yule Log and Champagne with our orange juice. I loved the atmosphere of the hotel. It was so very quiet and relaxing. I loved the assistance that was given during the week from...

I was really disappointed with this "hotel". The room was nothing like the pictures online. It was extremely small and the heat barely worked. The sink in the bathroom was also dirty with dried toothpaste which was absolutely disgusting. And to top it all off, there was a wet dog smell in the breakfast area. Overall, I really do not...

My young daughter and I stayed here while visiting friends in Montreal. The room was spacious and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a wonderful selection. The croissants were flaky and delicious, as one would hope, but there was also quiche and smoked salmon. My daughter was happy with yogurt, fruit, and hot chocolate. The staff...

We purchased a groupon for our stay at Auberge de La Fontaine. The only negative I have is this - The photos on both groupon and on their website are just not real. The room we stayed in was the complete opposite of the photo we saw. The room was very tiny and you have to climb two very long...

I am reluctant to give Auberge de la Fontaine only four stars because it is an excellent hotel with staff who cannot do enough for you, but there were a couple of (minor) negatives, so I will get them out of the way first. The parking is a bit tricky due to the idiosyncrasies of the local authorities, although the...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
