This hotel definitely has it's location going for it although the rooms could be improved. The hotel is connected to the underground Dejardins Complex and is located right by the Place Des Arts. In the summer there is almost always a festival going on outside and it is also near the metro and other shopping malls. The rooms were cramped...

What does this hotel have going for it? Location! A part of the Complexe Dejardins and the Underground City, you are connected to hundreds of shops, restaurants, and points of interest, plus Metro stops on multiple lines. Could not be in a better spot. Step outside and you're in the middle of the festival area and Place des Arts. Francofolies...

There are no massive negatives with the Hyatt and a number of positives (location, great staff). But, for the money it's not a good deal and the hotel is lacking in a few areas. You see, I had to change hotels during my stay in Montreal, and spent 2 nights here and 2 nights at the almost identically priced Westin,...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
