Great value for money hotel. It was in a good location, a few minutes walk from the main shopping street and within walking distance of Old Montreal. Staff were friendly and helpful. It had everything I needed.

This hotel offered everything we needed. As the plan was to explore the city and the young men that came with were off to the big concert on the island, the hotel provided everything we could have wanted. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel is only a block away from St. Catherines St. Most of the areas we...

YWCA Simple lodgings, low price, wonderful service We received the most welcoming greeting and the friendliest, most efficient service that you ever could hope for at this YWCA hotel. As a dot org, the Y has a community service feel. My husband and I had a significant problem with our transport; lodging staff went above and beyond to assist us....

A very small room but with all the amenities; fridge; regular bed; tv; attached bath with a stall shower; coffee maker and wonderfully clean and comfortable, The location is right downtown only five blocks from the train station and only a short distance to the metro with bus stops right outside. Has a very nice restaurant. This was the original...

The location just 10 minute walk to Old Montreal port and 5 minute walk to Museum of Contemporary art, Cathedral and rue d university which is most hype and where some good restaurant is offer you with world cuisine from burgers to sushi. Well we took a room with bathroom inside and it was in the 7th floor so the...

Good value for the money. Best price for the neighborhood. Clean. Close to everything. We enjoyed our trip. We will stay here in the future when we come back. Had everything we needed, including a full kitchen and laundry.

I would have given this 5 stars, great location, great helpful staff, very clean rooms and shared bathrooms. The only caveat for me was that the wifi sucked. I was only there for 1 night, and didn't have to use it that much, but it could be an issue for someone who likes to stay in.

I stayed at this Y and do not recommend it at all. The room was no frills, very basic with shared bathroom. There is a communal kitchen and living room. The main problem is with the staff and housekeeping there. The day I checked in there was suddenly a fire alarm and no one from the front desk told people...

Nice hotel, large room and very well located. You can drop off from the airport bus two blocks away from the hotel (and drop-in to go to the airport just one block away). The hotel is at the corner of Crescent Stree, with lots of irish pubs, nice beers and food and just 5 minutes walk from subway station and...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
