Stayed for two nights as part of a group on tour of Canada. The rooms were clean and comfortable but dated and I had to spend 5 minutes picking out the accumulated dust from the extractor fan in the bathroom which was choked up and not clearing the steam. The air con was linked to the heating and I couldn't...

Booked a room here 4 months in advance. Needed to cancel with 2 1/2 months notice. Would not cancel my room without paying full price. Canceled my reservation and charged me the full cost anyway. Very unprofessional and not helpful at all. Be warned!!!

A great place to stay, central and accessible to the gay village and the metro to go anywhere in Montreal. Very clean, comfortable room with a great view over the city. Friendly and attentive staff, lots of parking.

I stayed at this hotel on April 26th and 27th, 2017. I frequently travel for work and stay in many hotels every year. It was my first time staying in this hotel and I can say without a doubt, it will be my last time. The carpet in the room is old, stained and dirty. The desk is very battered...

Good hotel owners invest money on both people and their properties. For their staff to go on strike, it means they don't invest in people. Our group of four (three rooms) only found out that staff were on strike on the morning after our first night by a note slipped under our door. Surely we should have been advised on...

Came for comedy festival and the hotel was centrally located. 2 blocks from St. Denis. The hotel is tired and it feels like the ownership has given up on the hotel. The employees have picked up on the sentiment and you are made to feel like an inconvenience. Great views from upper floors but that's it.

I came here through a group booking and when we arrived we had to wait FIVE HOURS for our rooms to be ready. While the receptionist (Honorine Packett) continuously kept saying it would only be 20 minutes. They did not offer us any type of customer service compensation for this inconvenience or even a place to stay and wait. So...

This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed at. While at first glance it looked promising with it's magestic lobby, it quickly deteriorated once I got out of the elevator. The room had clearly not been renovated in 30+ years. The carpet had stains, the bed was lumpy, the faucet was leaking and I don't even know...

I last stayed here over 5 years ago, and the decor remains as dated as it was then and it is falling apart. The black out drapes were tattered. The "automatic" sliding front door had to be opened inside manually by one of their workers who was not always there, leading to waiting out in the cold. Often there was no...

We stay in a lot of hotels. Over the years, we'd thought we'd seen it all. We were wrong though, because we had never seen a strike! If they treat their staff with the same quality and standards they treat their hotel, those employees should keep marching for better standards. They were picketing infront of the hotel. To start, we...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
