The hotel offers all the conveniences one would expect, mostly without disappointing but without wowing either. Beds are comfortable, shower works well, there's a fridge, a flatscreen tv and free wifi. The hotel offers underground parking. Breakfast is a decent buffet. My main reproach is that after being told three times that parking in front of the hotel was free,... More

My business group meets annually in Montreal, and this is the second year I have stayed at this hotel. The staff are mostly students training to work in the hospitality industry. Where to begin? The rooms I clean, nicely appointed, and have all the "mod cons". The restaurant is superb. Breakfasts which come with the room are excellent, great choices... More

I like the idea of staying at a hospitality training institute. All the staff are students - they are young, enthusiastic and friendly. Even a bit nervous sometimes - you simply can't be unfriendly back! Because it is a school, the hours for the restaurant and bar are a bit more limited than a commercial establishment but accept that going... More

This is a learning venue, and staffed by students – so while there is some lack of experience and authority, there is at least an enthusiasm and eagerness to please and do well. For example, we had a discrepancy with the rate, and the student staff did their best to resolve it until the point that it was clear a... More

Booked here as I was unable to get anything closer to Vieux-Montreal. Turned out to be a fantastic location right next to the Sherbrooke metro station, you can get anywhere in the city very quickly. Also many restaurants and the Latin Quarter within 10-minute walking distance. Room was very spacious, the décor is in modern style, and had a balcony... More

Stayed here for a night in July during the Osheaga music festival. First off the location was perfect. Right next to the subway station. There were a good amount of nice restaurants nearby. Room was modern, well kept and laid out. View of Mount Royal was really nice. In the morning we had the best free breakfast we've ever experienced!... More

This hotel was centrally located on Rue St-Denis. There were plenty of shops and parks nearby. It was within walking distance of Old Montreal and Mont Royal also wasn't too far. It was a safe place to travel and stay as a solo woman. The breakfast was decent. They provided freshly squeezed juice, coffee, croissants and toast with cream cheese... More

Have just spent 5 nights here. Excellent location in Latin quarter, surrounded by restaurants and uni students (so prices are good!). Easy walking to pretty much everywhere but metro is so cheap it doesn't matter. Hotel is a training academy so despite being 8 storeys high it only has about 50 rooms. Great service and quality in the restaurant. The... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
