Very cool place. Recommend not going June-August because it is packed! Loved going without all the crowds around. We debated on not going here but are very happy that we did. Historic and beautiful, I would go again in a heartbeat!

We had been at the Versailles 30 years ago, when it was cheap and cheerful, and we were poor students who could not afford the large chain hotels with swimming pools. We visited again for two nights last weekend, and were so pleasantly surprised! It is now a not too ridiculously expensive "boutique hotel", very nicely appointed and decorated in...

I choose this hotel cause it was the cheapest 4 star i found in the area (I needed to go to the university campus every morning but wanted to stay near the center as well) and i am very happy with the choice!! I stayed for 5 nights, the room was not too big (but I was alone) but very...

Have stayed here several times over the last decade. Close to Beaux Arts, diverse restaurants, near central city. Valet parking and charming, if slightly worn, facilities, which adds to the charm. Helpful staff.

The hotel is in walking distance of St. Catherine's, the 'main' street of Montreal. The area is full of Asian restaurants and you can have very reasonably priced good Chinese and Vietnamese food. The hotel is also close to the Museum of Fine Arts and McGill University. The hotel consists of two 'old' connected houses (see picture). There is no...

First impressions do count. I arrived at Chateau Versailles at 6pm after a 30 hour long haul to get to Montreal. Getting out of the taxi I looked at the steps with dread. I stood there for a few minutes trying to work out how I was going to get my luggage up the stairs (I was there for a...

We spent the weekend in a room with two queen size beds - great floor space, comfortable mattresses, excellent pillows, nice bed linens. A smallish bathroom with limited counter space, but bonus points for a tub/shower combination. Our sleep quality was very good, however other friends who were also staying in the hotel complained of small noises, like creaking floor...

Stayed at this lovely boutique hotel for one night on a business trip. The hotel is beautiful, clean and in a great location. The staff at Chateau Versailles is 1st class. The breakfast was good and the coffee hot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Montreal.

I decided to stay at Chateau Versailles last minute. The front desk took about 30 minutes to find my reservation and enter it in. However, they did upgrade my room which was nice considering it was 2 am. The hotel has a very charming atmosphere. The rooms were decorated nicely and had great sunlight. The breakfast that was provided was...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
