The guys who own and run the hotel have imbeccable style and the rooms are very stylish, despite being very small. They have managed to make a little budget hotel look really lovely. They will also go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable! The area around the hotel is fine - you are 3 block from St...

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean and cozy, if a little on the small side. The hotel is in a great location, and everything we wanted to see in the city was easily accessible. Plus, the price was great! I would certainly stay here again in the future.

I must first start off this review by saying that my husband and I are NOT fussy people at all. We are a young 24 year old couple and have stayed at many places around the world, and there is not too much that bothers us in terms of hotels. We booked this hotel through Hotwire, and drove from Toronto...

I stayed here for 2 nights in May 2010. When I arrived, I wasn't too impressed by the area which appeared to be a bit run down but it turned out to be a great location since it is absolutely central and close by to many of the most vibrant and interesting streets that I have seen. Also, the Metro...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
