It was our first real vacation without our kids since our honeymoon ... 30 years ago! We decided to go somewhere romantic. What could be more romantic than Montreal? The pictures of the city on the internet were beautiful. Buildings dusted with snow, lights twinkling. We

Based on the great reviews, I booked this boutique hotel for a 2 night, quick trip to Montreal. While the location in Old Montreal is convenient, our experience was very so-so. The room we were in had a distinct smell of cigarette smoke - which when I mentioned to the staff

I would seriously give Hotel Bonaparte six stars if I could. This may be one of my favorite small hotels that I have stayed in. The room was clean and well appointed. It featured a most fabulous bathtub in the spacious bathroom. A view of Notre Dame made it all the more magic,

My 80 year old mother and I stayed at the Hotel Bonaparte for 4 days. We travelled to Montreal for a vacation and to watch the ballet. This is by far the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at. (I travel 5-6x/year on average) it is a boutique hotel in Old Montreal. It is

The room, service, and location were all excellent. Both the breakfast and the breakfast service were very good. The small bar is pleasant. The building is historic but the rooms are tastefully modern with all the conveniences one could want. Desk staff are extremely helpful.

Was there construction on the street in front? Last year the road was all torn up.
Street construction was completed.

Just wanted to help clarify the above responses, which might seem to contradict each other. The Montreal cruise terminal is an easy 5 minute walk from the Bonaparte, but it was closed for about a year for renovations and during that time the cruise lines provided a free shuttle from the terminal location to wherever their ships happened to be docked. I just confirmed that the cruise terminal reopened two days ago, so you should be good to go.

Hi. Yes the rooms have hair dryers. There is no formal transportation services to and from the airport although I am sure they would be happy to call a taxi for you. We took the express bus from the airport then walked from the closest stop which was about 5 blocks away. The construction in the area was. It a problem at all when we were there in feb.

"Get a room that faces Rue St. Francis Xavier! The view is charming!"
"Some rooms facing West (back of building) have a balcony. Rooms # finishing by 02 have a beautiful view on an old street."
"Request a room that doesn't face the main street to avoid street noise."
"If you want a really quiet room, select a non-street side. The hotel is on a cobble stone roadway."
"Room 501 with a terrace is wonderful. Nice place to sit in the evening while relaxing after a day of sight seeing."
