Just returned from four nights at Le Petit Hotel and could not have been happier with our stay. The bilingual staff were knowledgable about the area and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and nightlife. Our room was comfortable and quiet and perfect for a short getaway. Morning coffee in the lobby was a welcome plus: I only took advantage of...

We stayed here three nights in mid August 2016 and were impressed by the tastefully decorated comfortable rooms. The quiet tempo and low keyed ,attentive staff made our little break one of the best we've had. Highly recommended; keep up the good work!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The hotel is small (hence the name) and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We stayed in an extra large room that was spotless. The bed was amazing and the hotel was extremely quiet. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience something other than large chain hotels.

Traveled from Toronto for a 2 night stay a Le Petit Hotel for a birthday long weekend celebration. This is a great hotel located right in Old Montreal. Walking distance to many restaurants, galleries, the old port, and many tourist attractions. We stayed in a 'petite' room and it was just that but perfectly fine for what we needed. The...

We loved our stay at Le Petit Hotel. Our room was quiet, spacious and comfortable, the location was great, and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. We loved starting our days in Montreal with the croissants and espresso included in our stay. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Vieux Montreal, we will definitely book a room...

My wife and I reserved a medium room on a non-holiday weekend through Hotels.com (obviously). The room was great! Spacious, clean, and full of character (as seen in the photos). When we checked-in and entered our room they surprised us with a nice hand written card and two cupcakes for us to enjoy. Well done ! The staff are extremely...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
