I made a mistake by not thoroughly checking reviews on Hotel Stay Mont Royal. The only positive thing about this place is its location. It’s right across from the subway station and the area itself is great. Everything else is a mess. The front desk staff is non-existent. They are rarely around to assist people, and when they are, they...

I stayed here for 5 nights in early may. I noticed bad reviews and was delighted with my time there. The hotel has its own character and is not at all corporate. There are only 11 rooms so the shared showers were always available. the receptionist , Nicole , could not have been more helpful. Also, as its next door...

My Mother checked into Hotel Stay from 03-09 May 2014 expecting to have the amenities listed (flat screen tv, hair dryer, clock radio, etc), in a room that would look like the pictures posted on their site. However, when I went to pick her up in the rain, not a single employee was present to answer the door, nor did...

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. I didn't notice while I was reading reviews that both shower and washroom were outside the rooms, that is to say shared but it didn't bother me since I've stayed in hotels in Europe with the same concept. It's not a luxurious place, the rooms smell but that's normal during Winter when...

The room for its price is not too bad. It smelled, Restroom was clean, but shower needed maintenance. Do not expect high quality, but low budget traveler would be okay with this room. (I do not recommend it if you have sensitive nose however, the room smelled very musty. Breakfast is simple, but good. My problem with this hotel is...

Hotel Stay Mont Royal overcharged me for my reservation. When I noted this to the hotel and requested that the reservation be cancelled, management replied that its reservation policy did not permit this. The experience leaves me wondering the frequency with which Hotel Stay Mont Royal overcharges its guests, particularly international ones (as I am), when two currencies are involved...

Since I read all the review that saying it was terrible, I don't prospect it was a amazing. Based on a good price in high season, that's nothing you can complain about. The shared bathroom is clean, the room is ok but the air conditioner is noisy(my husband used ear plug so he felt nothing!) The location is just next...

This budget hotel is relatively clean, has nicely sized rooms with amenities (fridge, television, ac, sink in room, free wifi). The very small bathrooms and showers were in the hall for the entire floor to share which was fine (though on the first floor you have to walk past the front desk in a towel to use the shower). The...

Great everything! The staff were so helpful, gave amazing restaurant options and all were amazing (Universal for breakfast!!!) They gave as a "Walking paper gps" that took us from the hotel to Old Montreal and past a bunch of "must sees". Beautiful, clean room and we got a view of Mont Royal!! Definately would stay here again and would recommend...

The hotel was a pleasant surprise for me. It is a small, simple, nice and clean place. The staff is very friendly and willing to give information. The hotel provides a decent continental breakfast and good Internet. The hotel is a short walk from the metro station. You will find around a lots of restaurants, coffee shops and stores. It...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
