I tried to stay at this B&B but going there later at night was a nightmare. First the location wasn't the original one given on the site I had, then when I got inside from a key left for me, there was no indication of where the rooms were, and I ended up trying to get into the wrong room....

We arrived late so our host very kindly left the key and instructions on the door (which suggests it's a safe area, which was nice). Lovely old creaky house, unfortunately wifi didn't work in our room at the back (perhaps we were too far away from it). Room at the back very quiet. Great location, on a street with a...

Le Bleu Balcon is a clean and homey B&B. Said and his staff were friendly and easygoing, and they went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfasts were great. St. Denis is a busy commercial street, but my room was away from the street and was quiet. The bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, and shared bathroom was...

Very reasonably priced, so it seemed like a great deal for H holiday weekend. It was extremely hot, so our first disappointment was that it wasn't air conditioned. Shared bath down the hall. Our room was not made up the next day. If you're staying for a few days it won't be cleaned at all. I even had to ask...

We stayed at Le Blue Balcon for one night on a road trip through Quebec and New England. In Montréal it was a good choice. We came back to Le Blue Balcon for another night. The room was small with shared bathroom and shower on the corridor, but it was impeccably clean and we slept very well. The innkeeper Mr....

I was a bit unsure of staying there after reading the reviews, but this was the only place we could find during Grand Prix weekend. It turns out that the place is really nice. I think that it has changed hand since some of the negative reviews went up. (The owner says he took over in March). Well, the new...

I had been to Montreal once before with the same friend and we had an AMAZING time at University Bed and Breakfast. Unfortunately, Le Bleu Balcon just didn't live up to it in fact, it was downright terrible. The amazing breakfast that they boast about was nothing special. The coffee was bad and we were served whatever the cook felt...

First of all, I am a thirty year old woman who is generally laid back and chill about traveling, but the experience at le bleu balcon was just over the top and so I am going to share some of this experience with potential guest, because I think it is only fair. My friend and I spent three nights at...

When I saw the add of this B&B saying that they had the best breakfast in town...I thought it would worth staying there...good location and good breakfast sounded like a good deal. Unfortunetly my experience was completly different. So far, the worst breakfast service I've ever had in a B&B in Canada...and for the price I paid, I'd never go...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
