I recently stayed at Hotel Zero 1 with my husband and son for 10 days, the room was a little tight. I had only 2 small complaints and they were immediately looked after. Love the convenient and central location, close to everything including subway and bus and shopping plus Old Montreal. On site restaurant was very good. Rooms were well...

This hotel is in a fantastic location for those wanting to be a little closer to the younger haunts and fashionable parts of Montreal - although it was a little away from Mile End and the Plateau. Within several blocks walk is the Latin Quarter, "party" district and the Village for gay travellers. A bit further afield is the shopping...

Great location close to old town Montreal, at the entrance to Chinatown. Comfortable room, smallish but well designed and functional. Staff very helpful and friendly. One block from a big shopping mall with supermarket. 10 minute walk to great restaurants.

The Zero 1 is a bit more basic than the hotels I normally go to, but still there was nothing I missed during my stay. We had a loft room with a really nice sitting area overlooking the city. The finishings and furniture of the room were not very high quality (quite Ikea like), but overall the room looked nice...

We stayed here for three nights during a quick trip to Montreal. The hotel is in a great location. We walked pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. China town is literally across the road and the hotel is situated right in the heart of Quartier De Spectacles. I wasn't the biggest fan of the lobby. The bright red carpet...

We booked this hotel via the Web. The location is excellent for touring Montreal. Once we arrived in our room we were slightly surprised with the black walls and ceiling. The lighting in the room is terrible. I should have brought a flashlight. The beds were very low to the floor. In addition we thought the cleanliness could have been...

When you walk into the hotel it looks very clean and modern. As soon as you get into your the room we noticed holes in the ceilings. It needs to be fixed. We have stayed here few times and each time we noticed the ceilings need fixing. The good side is that it's across the street from Chinatown so we...

Great location within walking distance of Montreal Quartier des spectacles, St-Denis street, with the bars and the good food, and the Old Montreal. Room is trendy, bed is very comfortable, you have access to a small fridge and a small microwave and, surprise, you don't hear the mouse friends m the street! Wi-if not too reliable!!! The terrace on the...

My teens thought the trendy decor was totally cool. We noticed that the room was really small (just enough room for a cot beside the queen-sized bed), but its huge window opened up onto a fantastic view of the city's lights. The cabinets streamlined the room while hiding a sink, fridge, dishes etc. and the heavy curtains allowed us to...

This hotel has a very modern loft like vibe that my husband and I enjoyed. While this look may not appeal to everyone, I think many twenty and thirty somethings would feel at home here. We felt that for the price we paid the room was great value. We had a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge a sitting area...

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
