We stayed at UQAM for a few days and it was adequate. The room was basic with bed, desk and small kitchenette. We had a private room with a small bathroom. The location is fantastic as in walking distance to downtown Montreal and very close...More
This place is the actual worst. It is currently 12:50 am and we were just informed that our room is still not ready. To make matters worse, we were told that a receptionist is currently cleaning the rooms - not even a professional cleaner! We...More
It's the most awful and expensive hostel I've been to.
There's no air conditioning so you'll roast in the summer, it's old, dirty and it's not as centric as others. I was just staying for a night and that's why I didn't run away.

Quartier des Spectacles
Also Known As
Residences Universitaires Uqam West Hotel Montreal
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and
exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
