While visiting Montreal, we came across this B&B. We have stayed at hotels and airBnBs, but neither of them compare to an actual Bed & Breakfast. I wasnt sure what to expect but decided to try it out. I am glad we did, as this was a highlight of our first trip to Montreal. We were checked in my the son of Louise, and their puppy croquette, and who toured the house with us. We got to meet Louise a little bit later. They both spoke French and English. Having learnt French in school, I can read and write French well, but can barely conversate in it unless it is spoken very slowly. This being the case, we spoke in English. There is also an option of breakfast for a minimal fee, which is a very good deal. On the first day, Louise made us delicious pancakes in the shape of a butterfly, and in a delicious fruit cause. This came with coffee, and we also had a toast of sparkling apple on the first day. On the second day, we had a yogurt with fruit, and these nice breakfast sandwiches. I don't consume cheese, and most milk products, so Louise did cater to my needs. This is an older house and filled with character, so it is one to be appreciated. It is beautiful on the inside and outside. That being said, this house also had steep and narrow stairs, so if youve got to be careful when going up and down, especially if you are older. This place is dog friendly. As I have an older dog, I had to carry my dog up and down, which can be a task if your dog is over 40 lbs. Our room, the Must, had everything we needed, from a sink, mini fridge, tv, a few welcome snacks, coffee, tea, Q-tips, bandages, etc. The room can get a little warm in the summer, so I'd consider visiting in the Winter or when it isnt the brunt of summer. The garden outside is beautiful and place I wish we spent more time in. Our stay was for only 2 days, and I really wish I had booked atleast an additional day. The B&B is located right opposed St Marks Church, and also had a park with a gazebo, music playing, and a line of bars. We used the bus and metro to get to and into the city. I didnt have to use my car until the day we were driving back to the US. This place is very conveniently located, and if you have your RTL pass, you wont need to bother with walking, taxis, and can take the bus from a stop which is 3 minutes away from the B&B. The bathroom was shared, but which was clean and which had a lot of signs encouraging/reminding people to clean up after themselves, and also how to, which is useful and very appreciated. If you are looking for a Bed & Breakfast experience while in Longueil/Montreal, I'd highly recommend this place!

Goldilocks was. Looking for just the right bed and meal. This place is that without the bears just one cute friendly dog. Louise was welcoming and helpful. The bedroom
And en-suite had everything I needed. The location is in a little village like suburb that has a bus service, a supermarket, and lots of good eateries including a chocolate shop. The Italian restaurant down the road was friendly and the food was yummy but do book it is small. When the corona virus emergency became apparent Louise was very helpful and eased my stress of having to book new flights and change my travel plans. I will be back to pick up my travels when we come out the other side of this virus. I whole heartily recommend this accommodation for the friendly safe warm atmosphere.

I booked this petit boutique B&B for my short business related to Montreal. What a nice surprise! Beautiful, clean, quiet and in a very nice zone rounded by wonderful restaurants and cafes. Although you certainly won't need them since Host Louise food is amazing (and I am a chef...) Ask to serve your breakfast outside in the little beautiful garden where in the shed, her boyfriend practice guitar and it is very pleasant. This is by far the best B7B I've ever stayed in! Thank you Louise and family!

I enjoyed my stay at Refuge du Poète, a quaint B&B in a quiet neighborhood just across the river from Montreal. The reception was very warm, and was especially a good choice for a quick overnight stop en route.

It's possible to get into Montreal, car free, via the Métro station Longueuil - Université de Sherbrooke, which is just a mile away. To get there, you can walk, take a bus, or a Bixi bike rental. Once on the Métro, it takes just 10 minutes to get to Berri - UQAM, the center of the system and the Quartier Latin.

Spent only one night here, in the room w the ensuite bathroom. The room was cosy and charming, as is the house...it's a small older house with all sorts of interesting antiques and features. We were greeted very pleasantly by Louise and I also enjoyed chatting briefly with Louise and seeing her beaming smile the next morning. However, probably because I was concerned about travelling again after several years and what might happen on the remainder of our trip, I slept badly; the bed and the pillow were older, and my husband found them uncomfortable too. I have not slept in a bed like this in some years, including in my travels to Australia, Malaysia and Costa Rica in 2019...time to replace the mattress. My neck ache lasted for a couple of days. It was super to be in such an interesting neighbourhood; wish the Greater Toronto Area had something as charming as Longueuil (all the houses are different, many have large lawns; interesting looking stores and restaurants; a chill relaxed vibe)...I would consider moving there. I can see how it would be so easy to get to and from Montreal from this Gite, via transit. Another review commented that the breakfast was a modest price but $18 each is not cheap (however, putting together a tasty, interesting, large breakfast for two people takes a lot of work, and some expense, so why not?) Sadly, I noticed some hairs and dirt around one of the bed legs...in a very prominent spot/I wasn't kneeling down or hunting for dirt...just there it clearly was; so it seemed to me that the room had not been vacuumed before our stay. If you're on a tight budget this place is good, but no excuse for not vacuuming up. It was super to be able to bring our dog (he is non-shedding) and to not have to pay extra for him, as very few places allow pets and when they do, I have to pay a cleaning fee although he does not shed at all. Finally, I'm fairly sure I left something behind in the bathroom (a legacy of not sleeping well) but by the time I noticed, we were several hours' drive away. A problem with booking through a booking engine is that she did not have our contact number, I suppose, which is why she did not call to advise me. We were staying only one night and so, it didn't matter that there were very few TV channels available on the in-room TV.

My boyfriend and I stayed here whilst enjoying the Formula One.

The B&B is very quaint and unique. We loved the friendly reception that we were given by Louise, Croquet (small adorable dog) and the rest of the family.

We had a double room and shared a bathroom which is what we had signed up for, this wasn't an issue at all as we spent most of our time out and about. The location of the B&B is great, close to lots of restaurants and a supermarket.

The breakfast that we enjoyed daily was outstanding, the best I have ever experienced whilst staying at a B&B.

This B&B is very clean and affordable price in Montreal. The house itself is very interesting with lots of antiques inside. Nice stay, will come again!

Oh kind reminder the owner has 2 small friendly dogs, in case anyone is afraid of dogs...

This was a very pleasant stay in a very original room - a bit like a lovely dollhouse - in a small old house on a calm street and hosted by a charming and cheerful old lady. The location is perfect for trips to Montréals downtown as it can be reached after 15-20min walks to either a station of a ferry boat or a Metro station. And the price for this nice accommodation was very reasonable and more than worth the money. Free parking was possible on the street and also the shared bathroom was nothing to worry about as it was very clean and tidy.

I stayed in the wonderful bed and breakfast for a few days while I was in Montreal for a conference. The quaint home was welcoming and the house had so much charm to it. Should I come back to Montreal I will most certainly be staying there again. Be sure to get the breakfast because not only is it a good deal but it was by far the best food I had while I was there.

We stayed at this beautiful B&B for one night only. The host was extremely warm, check-in was a breeze, and the room was very nice, European and unique.

The sheets seemed to be amazing high quality Egyptian cotton, and every little detail was thought of in the room.

This Refuge is walking distance from the Longueuil cafes and bistros, and nightlife was vibrant despite being a week night.

I would not hesitate to recommend this place at all.
