We stayed here for one night after a 7 hr drive with our 2 year old. There has been some topical renovations, but there are many aspects that are fairly old. Our sink was beside the bed (odd), the hallway carpets were dirty (didn't look dirty until our daughter ran up and down the halls in bare feet - ewwwww dirt). The closet was doorless, which worked out for a dark place for us to set up the pack and play. The AC was loud, but didn't bother us as we were tired. The hotel is located beside a Ford dealership and the MTL tunnel -which was perfect for us as we were en route to Quebec City. The restaurant isvery diner-style, sandwiches, pasta, casseroles, etc. Overall - nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either.

We needed to find a motel that allows dogs and we found Hotel L'Express on the web. Room was small but clean- no hit of any smoke smell.
Really good breakfast- 4 slices of bacon, 2 eggs, toast, home fries ( which were NOT greasy) and coffee. Waitress at breakfast very nice and I don't speak french and had no problem with my order.
Our first night we were to tired to go out and had dinner in the restaurant and found an excellent beer- for those who like beer try Richards Red- I liked it so much we brought some home!
Staff at the desk very nice also.
We would stay there again-

We booked a room through an online booking service for a family of five - two double beds and a cot. When we arrived, there was no room to put the cot, except to block the bathroom door and have it pushed against another bed. When we asked the service desk they said that although it was possible to add a cot, they recommended against it. We were flabbergasted that this was not made clear at the time of booking. My husband was given permission to rearrange the furniture, much of which we had to store in the closet, greatly reducing the amount of seating.
- Their brochure advertises laundry facilities, so I packed accordingly, only to discover upon arrival that the laundry room is for staff only, for washing linens.
- The wireless internet was only available in common areas, though they were working to fix that problem while we were there.
- The hallways *do* smell of cigarettes, as others have said. The room seemed fine, though.
- The free breakfast was only for two people, despite the booking for five people, however, it was enough food to feed us all, which added to the value of our stay. It was a full, hot breakfast: bacon/sausage, eggs, toast, potato and fruit.
- On the third day of our stay, we spotted one dead bed bug. We hoped that since it was dead, that meant they were treating the problem.
- The a/c worked great, which was wonderful since it was 30C+ most days.
- It was quiet at night for sleeping, which was a bonus for us over some of the downtown locations frequented by party-goers.
- There was no bar fridge, which I expected to see, and we had bought food that needed cold storage.
- The location isn't great, there is a lot of road work going on, and the view out our window was a building site and a lot of trucks. However, we were still a short drive to the main city, and we were given information on public transit when we asked.
- Overall, this was not a fantastic place, but it was decent considering the price we paid for a family of five (about $100 a night including the hot breakfast and cot).

My family and I, arrived at the hotel around 4PM and looked forward to relaxe after a long roadtrip from Niagara to Montreal.
At first the receptionist seemed nice and we checked in.
The only thing we ask for is a clean room, which were the only thing we did’nt get.
The beds were made and “cleaning seal“ on the toilet so the cleaning Ladies had been there.
We found dirt and pieces of Food on the floor, used cleenex on top of the closer, Old food in the fridge from the previous visitors. When we looked in the bed, there were hair in it.
We decided to leave and check out immidiately.
The receptionist claimed that she was not aware if the cleaning had been done and went to check the room herself. She came back stating that it had not been cleaned and asked if we wanted another room. Needless to say that this is of course not true, as the beds were made and on the toilet there was a “cleaning seal band” stating that cleaning had been done.
I asked for refund, but she would not refund anything - she just asked us to contact the booking portal ourself. Disappointed we left the hotel, that also looked a mess outside. So in short, poor service, filthy, dirty and in very very poor condition. The surroundings are terrible and the hotel appears warn out, as well and you absolutely don’t feel like eating from that place. I’d rather sleep in the car than spending 1 second at this hotel.
If I could rate this hotel with “minus-stars” I would have done that.

Booked through travelocity, We were welcomed at Check in , went to check the room as i read all these bad reviews after i booked it just to make sure its up to par and there was no issues . The place needs a bit of paint and finishing some renos but it was clean and lots of towels and we was very satisfied . The next Morning we enjoyed a very good home cooked breakfast in the restaurant and it was a decent price . I will be booking at this place again and want to let you know this place was s nice decent priced motel close to town and quiet at night to get a nice night sleep.

The only good thing about this place was the Asian lady at the front desk that checked us in and out. She was courteous. However, the hallways, the rooms etc. are terrible and needs urgent attention. They said they are doing renovations, but there are ways to do renovations and still have the place looking hospitable! They money I paid for both rooms was not near worth it, but it was already late and we were tired, so we didn’t have time to drive around Montreal looking for somewhere else. The pictures are all deception. Something on the bed also bit my wife(not sure if it was bedbug). Go somewhere else if you can!!

I've stayed in many hotels around the world in the past few years but this was hand down the worst. I have NOTHING good to say, so here’s the bad:
- Located in a XXX/ Industrial district, with a funeral home/cemetery next door. Also located under high voltage power lines! (See attached pictures)
- No elevator
- Terrible TV (purchased from a motel – see attached pictures)
- AC did not work
- No safe box
- Terrible bathroom (outdated shower, sink, toilet etc.)
- Terrible customer service
- They will not accept credit/debit cards - only cash.
- Their ATM's do not work!!! (our Visa, Master cards, and American Express cars were all declined – We saw other guests having the same issue. If you need cash you have to drive half a mile to George’s pizza.
-WIFI had one bar? I couldn’t download emails from my blackberry!!!
- Wasp nest on 3rd floor fire escape!
- Ice machine but no ice bucket?
- Expensive vending machine, $2.50 for a can of coke?
- Bar without a bar tender?
- No local information at reception or in room?
- No wake up call? No front desk # in room?
- No gas stations near by?
- No balcony
- Small towels?
- 1 trash can for a twin queen room?
- Over priced restaurant
- Every employee who helped us asked for “service” which meant tip, I was a waiter for a couple of years but I found this very rude and unprofessional.
- This was the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced at a hotel; they have free wifi but there’s absolutely no information in the room on how to get the WEP key. The receptionist was reluctant to give me they number for some reason?? We ate at their terrible over priced restaurant a couple of times, the last night we ordered food to go in Montréal because we knew the hotels restaurant was closed, when we got back we realized the restaurant had forgotten to give us knives, forks etc. The receptionist refused to give us any cutlery ect. The best he could do was give us 2 sets of knives and forks from under the front desk (he was to lazy to walk to the kitchen). DO NOT SAY HERE, It literally ruined our vacation.

We stayed there for the Canada GP. The room was modern and very comfortable. The breakfast included was very hearty and more than enough to start the day.

But the service was the best part. We used the bus to get to the GP and not only did the staff explain the schedule but they also noticed we werent standing in right place and someone from the front desk came out too help us!

1. smells like smoke as soon as you walk up the stairs and through the hall to your room.

2. there is a disgusting, dusty, dented, dirty crumb filled toaster on top of a fridge.

3. went to use the bathroom, toilet was broken. thank goodness our dad could fix it. there's mould in the grout in the tiles, all in the shower, and dirt all around the door frame.

4. smelled musty and gross in the room. extremely damp feeling.

5. the OVERALL BEDDING: DISGUSTING!!!! stained, smelly, and extremely over used. Also, one of the beds was angled so our feet were elevated higher than our head.

6. carpets look horrendous.

7. you generally just feel like you don't want to touch anything.

8. it is not worth staying here to save 40$ and have a free breakfast. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

This is no doubt a budget hotel. This kind of hotels normally give terrible full-of-carbs breakfasts, but in this particular case the breakfast is great for the price you pay. I would recommend this hotel.
