Detailed Reviews
Staying five nights at the loft was truly like staying at home away from home. We were greeted by the charming and very helpful innkeeper Allysha who showed us where everything was or how it worked. The combination laundry washer/dryer was a huge plus as it meant we could pack less and get away with carry-on.
I have to commend the owners of Charlotte’s Rose Inn for the smart thinking of every little detail to make a stay comfortable. From laundry detergent, several kinds of tea, milk and cream in the fridge, to bottles of San Pellegrino, to Kleenex boxes scattered about the premise, to cotton balls, soap and shampoo… etc. in the bathroom. My companion and I were truly impressed. The only items we needed to stock up on were eggs and bread for toasting and jam for a light breakfast in the morning as we were out for lunch and dinner everyday.
The loft is truly cosy and perfection for two people or more. The beds are very comfortable and we slept extraordinarily well. The only noise one has to contend with is the bickering of crows that seem to be everywhere in Prince Edward Island. The central location is ideal as one can walk to shops and restaurants in minutes.
There is a delightful little Vietnamese sushi restaurant opposite the Inn called the May Deli where we had a meal on our last evening as it was pouring buckets and we didn't want to venture far. It was excellent and very reasonably priced which is not true of many of the eating places in Charlottetown.
Our stay at The Loft at Charlotte’s Rose was truly a delight and highly recommendable to anyone who wants a comfortable and peaceful stay.

I was travelling alone and wanted to treat myself to somewhere special. I was greeted by Alicia upon entry, who was delightful and checked me in with ease. I was early, and my room was still being prepared, so she h gave me a main floor tour. Snacks were plentiful and welcome after an early morning flight! There was homemade chocolate pudding, fresh fruit, candied bacon, chocolates, nuts and more. Bottle water was in the common area fridge, as well a coffee/ tea station in the dining area.
I stayed in the Confederation Room. It was a nice size, well kept, and spotless. There was a pitcher of water and glasses in the room as well. It was warm day, and I was pleased to see several fans as well as air conditioning if I wanted to turn it on.
The room was full of light beaming in through the windows. The bathroom was a generous size and contained nice shower amenities, slippers, a robe, and more. It was lovely and modernized, but still fit well into the theme.
The Inn itself is located very close to the downtown core. It was short walk to downtown, but the highlight for me were all of the other cute homes in and around the neighborhood. It was a charming area and access to a walking path along the water.
The breakfast was amazing. I was able to snap a picture of the set up which included fresh fruit and a homemade biscuit, but after that I was enjoying the meal so much I no longer had a though to take a picture. The breakfast was brought out and was what I selected upon check in- eggs, toast, and island sausage. Everything was served on beautiful dining plates and not a detail was missed. It was perfect way to send me off exploring!
I should mention the price, which at first seemed like it was splurge. However, the next night I checked. Into a regular chain hotel for business and it was not nearly as delightful, it did not serve breakfast, and it ended up costing $15 more than my stay at the Inn.

We stayed for an evening in the Milton Acorn Room. The room was lovely and we had a nice longer hall from the bathroom leading to our bedroom, which offered more privacy. We had a cozy queen bed room, with perhaps a bit more furniture inside, than was needed (was a bit of a squeeze), but the room itself along with the bathroom was beautiful. The bathroom had everything you would want for a stay, and felt luxurious with its selected toiletries and bathrobes & slippers. The complimentary local hand-made chocolates that came with the room was a nice touch. We also had an outside access to the porch area, which housed chairs and tables, to sip a glass of wine, shared with other patrons. We were offered various breakfast choices that we were asked to choose from the evening prior, and loved every moment of our breakfast. This was the best part of the stay. Service was friendly, and professional. We would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your wonderful review, and for coming back to visit us! I'm glad your experience under the current owners (and myself) was just as good as your experience with the previous owners. If you find yourself on the Island again, please come visit! We're always making improvements to our breakfast and our rooms.

We enjoyed four restful, comfortable nights in the Confederate Suite at the gorgeous Charlotte's Rose Inn - located just a few minutes walk from "downtown" Charlottetown, PEI. The B & B's decor reflects the home's 1884 roots. Our consummate B & B hostess, Allysha, cheerfully provided restaurant recommendations, breakfast timing accommodation and even packed us a wonderful packaged breakfast for our early departure. The owners handle the gourmet breakfast preparation but we didn't see them at all during our stay. They did however provide for 24 hour/day snacks in the lovely dining room including maple bacon nibbles, baked treats and delicious cookies. The B & B is elegant and wonderfully maintained with Rain shower heads - at least in our room. Charlottetown was a beautiful historic destination. The favorable Canadian/US $ conversion enabled us a frugal stay in this luxury B & B.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us! Sherrin loves to decorate, and if you return to us again in the future, you'll see she has already made some changes -- but they still reflect the house's roots. And our candied bacon has returned this year! It proved to be a favorite last year. Randy has also expanded the types of baked treats we offer (including adding Nanaimo bars to his menu), so you have something new to look forward to if you visit PEI again. Thank you for your wonderful review! -Allysha

Charlotte's Rose Inn was the perfect place for two American couples on a break-out, "thank goodness we can cross the border," trip in late September. Location was great for walking the town and easy access to restaurants; rooms were lovely and comfortable; common space and dining room were large and gracious; breakfasts and snacks all first rate; and Allysha was a wonderful and helpful host. We'd recommend it to anyone!

Charlotte's Rose Inn is a delight to stay. We were in the Confederation Suite at the top of the stairs with a view of the front street. This is a boutique bed and breakfast. The room is traditionally decorated in the Victorian period. The bathroom was 21 century! Wonderful large shower with spa sprays, large sink with local potato soap. In our room waiting from Cow's creamery were chocolate dipped potato chips called cow chips. Yummy! The bed was comfortable and there was an air conditioner we used because it was warm during our stay. The downstairs parlor was welcoming. We sat comfortably while planning our days. We stayed 3 nights. The breakfast was custom ordered the night before. It was a full delicious meal with local jams and produce. In the afternoon and evening on the buffet sweet baked treats were out to enjoy. If you need maps or ideas there were brochures too. We walked to the main area of Charlottetown for dinner. They had bicycles to borrow. We used them to ride around town and to the park. There was nothing that was not thought of for your comfort and needs. Definitely would stay here again.

Great BB located near Victoria Park, the wharf and restaurants. Great for walking around. The breakfasts were delicious! So much food and I was never disappointed. Each day a baked good was also offered with coffee and tea and fruits. Allysha who runs the day to day operations is warm and friendly, and made the experience all the better. The other guests who stayed in the main house were lovely. Met people from North Carolina, BC and Alberta. All were friendly and we got to chat at breakfast each day. The only thing that was annoying was one of the guests who stayed in the loft did laundry from 11pm to around 2-3am and the laundry room is directly above the room I was staying in and it was very loud, keeping me awake for a few hours. So a reminder to all people travelling anywhere be mindful of other guests.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us, minus the laundry the guests above you did during the night. We've begun reminding them that they should not run the laundry into the night as there are people below. We'd be happy to have you stay with us again in the future! Come back anytime. Allysha

WOW - what a special place! This inn is one of the most outstanding I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in anywhere, and my daughter and I happily spent 3 wonderful nights there. All the spaces are gorgeously curated, and both the well-appointed individual rooms and public areas are a feast for the eyes. Randy is an exceptional host, ably assisted by lovely Kelly, and between them, not a single detail is overlooked. Randy is a superb chef, and his sumptuous breakfasts were truly incredible - they carried us through most of the day. And then on our return, either late afternoon or evening, there were always luscious baked goods available in the dining room. A huge plus is that the inn is also within easy walking distance of pretty much everything, making it the PERFECT place to stay when visiting Charlottetown!!

We recently visited the Charlotte Rose Inn for a 3 night stay. We were pleasantly surprised at the room and amenities. It was tastefully decorated and had plenty of room for our luggage and belongings. The room is well appointed with beautiful soap, robe, slippers, fridge and coffee making facilities, even a milk frother. They thought of everything. Breakfasts were abundant and delicious, starting with yogurt, fruit, scones, pastries and ending with a personally selected meal from a menu that changes daily. Randy is an excellent cook and the meals were beautifully presented with local fresh fruits and vegetables. Kelly made our stay memorable, she was always available to answer any questions or assist with anything we asked.
It is a fantastic place to stay and made our stay in Charlottetown a memorable one.

This is the nicest B&B that I have stayed in and I have stayed in many across the US and Canada. The house is beautiful and immaculate. You were given a form to complete each day to choose between a few different breakfasts and everything was excellent. It is evident that the owners really care about pleasing their guests. I didnt get the name of the young woman who greeted us and advised that she also did housekeeping and served our french press coffee but I wish I had. She was so kind and helpful. Highly recommend this B&B. Within walking distance to downtown shops and eateries.
