This Inn was our favorite of the several B & B's that we stayed in. We stayed for 3 nights and the owner was so helpful in giving us maps and suggesting places to visit. The history of the Inn is very interesting. The breakfasts were delicious. Our room was very comfortable; the bed luxurious. Upon our request, the owner filled our water bottles from the kitchen and gave us milk for the coffee we made in the room. No complaints. Thank you!

I stayed for 3 nights at the end of July and was very happy. Driving up, the house it beautiful. It's on a main road, but well set back so the setting is very quiet and peaceful. Reception was very friendly at check in and gave me some good information on the area as it was my first time in Charlottetown. The room was great. As soon as we walked in I knew I would enjoy it. I was staying in the Cook's Room on the first floor. Being an old house I was worried about noise from the floor above, and I am very sensitive to noise, but this turned out to not be an issue at all. The room had a lovely sitting area next to two windows. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was great as well, with two shower heads, making for a great way to wind down at the end of the day. The room also has a walk in closet/pantry that was a great bonus. That area had a mini fridge and microwave in it, as well as a small coffee maker and electric tea kettle. It also had a great shelving system and lovely robes. Along with the two windows (that do open) there was also a ceiling fan and A/C, so I was easily able to keep the temperature at a level comfortable to me. The room was near the dining area but I never heard or was bothered by noise there during the morning breakfast service. I did not do the breakfast option so cannot comment on the food.
For me, the location was great. It is not right in downtown, but is an easy walk to there. It is quite close to Victoria Park which makes for another nice walk.
Overall I was very happy with my stay and glad I chose this location.

My sister and I spent 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the Victorian charm of this grand old house situated on a very quiet drive. It is a reasonable walking distance to downtown and all the attractions and is situated in a lovely neighborhood of private homes. Viola and her family were VERY attentive and extremely helpful. This was my first experience with a B&B and although some might be newer or more updated, I appreciated the charm of this establishment. Breakfast was wholesome and well made and served on lovely dishes. You are surrounded by antiques.

Overpriced property. Rooms smelled musty, moldy and were dusty. A/C didn't work properly, A/c only small window unit. Supposed to have continental breakfast but nobody showed up to prepare breakfast. Other guests were similarly upset at property. No fridge in rooms. Complimentary drinks were locked in kitchen, but no access to them. We cancelled 2nd night as did another guest. Even tried to call management but no answer.

first of all the day when you checked in which is really hot on the island, we even offer you to upgrade to a suite under the same rate you booked, we explained as the room only have window air condition so it may not make room cool enough especially under such high temperature, also due to the room is on the top of the building, it will make you feel hot in the night, but your party reviewed the room we offered then still decide to go to your original choice. we reminder you it may felt hot at the night due to the previous reasons but you mentioned you are not worried about hot. our property was inspected by government before we opened, if room is bad or mood or dusty as you said we were not allowed to open. also when you entering the room for check in, you never mentioned the room has strange smell, if so why you will stay there for one night. we had guests stayed in that room just one day before you checked in, they loved the room so it may not your style room. there is a fridge in the room you stayed, and you even take the tray we put on top of it in the room, i don't know why you will say there is no fridge, all the facilities we stated on website is kept same. Second you booked through Expedia and choose the "exclude Breakfast" rate, there is no continental breakfast in our property, all the guest choose the breakfast included rate will have fully serviced hot breakfast in our dining room. please make sure you read it clearly for the rate description before you make the reservation to the other property in the future.

During our road trip through Canada, we stayed 3 nights at the Elmwood Heritage Inn PEI. When you actually find the correct driveway, the house does look impressive. We were not impressed with the owner. From the beginning, she was not welcoming. We were shown to our room, and the room looked nice. However, the bathroom tub and shower were very deep, and there were no handrails. I am very small in stature, and I felt very unsafe getting in and out of the tub/shower. We asked the owner if they could supply us with ice, and they said, we will put a container of ice in the fridge. They did. It was a very small
Tupperware container. The next day, we asked if we could get extra ice. The reply was, "Well, I guess I can give you more". They did, and the next morning there were 2 small containers of ice. We are from the Southern USA, and I guess we expected the owners to be a little friendly, especially when you are paying those kinds of rates.

Elmwood Heritage Inn is a beautiful and quiet B&B in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Charlottetown where you will find many restaurants and breweries featuring local seafood including lobster, oysters, mussels, and more. The hosts Viola and her husband were welcoming hosts and provided scrumptious breakfasts! Viola also helped us with mapping out points of interest and to see on our first-ever trip to PEI. Having stayed at other B&Bs I can say the accommodations are wonderful and the ensuite bath and shower in the Cook's Room are worth the cost of the stay!

This is a bed and breakfast hotel situated in a period house. Our room, Red, was very spacious and comfortable. We had our own complete bathroom, a sitting area and a queen bed. We had to go up a lot of stairs to get to it as it was at the very top of the house. We didn't mind but if you if you can't manage stairs make sure to book a ground floor room.
We had a key to our room and to a door in the front so we were free to go whenever we wanted. We had a bit of a communication problem about breakfast so we did not eat at the house. We had asked the girl what was served at breakfast and she was unable to answer. We had asked for a menu but she never brought one. This would not be a problem if you have no diet restrictions.
The owner was very friendly and talked to us several times. He also helped my husband carry the suitcases up to the room. Very accomodating.
The location was great too. We were only a couple of blocks away from the Victoria park. This is a park that has a boardwalk on the harbor where the two rivers meet. Very Beautiful! We were also minutes away when driving from restaurants, downtown, and other amenities and attractions.
I really recommend this B&B if this is your choice of accomodation while traveling.

Our room, The Library Room, was very tired and worn. The majority of the wallpaper seams were pealing with some sections no longer adhering to the wall. We also killed several large ants in our room. For the price we paid, we expected much better conditions. It seems the upkeep in general has been neglected. With this said, I can not recommend a stay here.

We travelled from Scotland to spend our honeymoon on PEI, and stayed at the Elmwood for 7 nights in total, 4 nights in one suite and 3 in another. We had a WONDERFUL time- the suites were exquisitely decorated, VERY comfortable and spotlessly clean! The breakfasts were fantastic, with a good variety of home-cooked dishes. Jay and Carole were perfect hosts, courteous and friendly without being intrusive, and their extensive local knowledge helped us get the most from our honeymoon- great advice for day trips and restaurant recommendations. We cannot recommend the Elmwood too highly- a wonderful oasis of calm and comfort.

Recently spent three nights @ the Elmwood. The service was spectacular! The innkeepers, Carol and Jay, were accommodating, incredibly helpful with suggestions re sightseeing, restaurants, etc. and did everything possible to make us feel right at home. We even exchanged recipes! We had one of the smaller rooms on the 3rd floor but it was delightful - clean with nice homey touches - but with all of the 21st century amenities -- TV/VCR, AC, gas fireplace, individual heaters if the evenings got cold. All in all, an A+ experience!
