Detailed Reviews
I stayed here for over a week with my family of four. Overall, This is a great hotel and I look forward to returning.
When travelling with children, it is nice to stay in a place with a kitchen, laundry, and other amenities of home. Unfortunately, it is hard to find such places that can compete with a 4 or 5 star hotel. This place does and I highly recommend staying here.
We had a large 2-bedroom unit that had a full kitchen, laundry, and two full bathrooms. It was very nicely finished with high-quality furniture, bedding, etc. Daily housekeeping was offered. My only complaint is that the televisions in the unit were quite small by today’s standards.
The hotel does not have a formal concierge, but the front desk staff are helpful and can answer most questions. Breakfast is provided but there is no onsite restaurant. There are multiple good restaurants within a 10 minute walk and I imagine you can get food delivered if you wanted.
I would stay here again.

We stayed in Room 109 - which is also known as the Parkland Suite. We had to "self isolate" for four days because of PEI's COVID requirements. I can't imagine a more pleasant place to spend four days in isolation. The highlight of the room is the lovely "sunroom" which is equipped with a table and two comfortable wing back chairs. It overlooks a park and faces a quiet street. We really appreciated the space heater provided - it took the chill off the snowy February days.
The main room is quite lovely. The kitchen is nicely equipped, including a dishwasher! We also appreciated the washer and dryer which are nicely tucked away in a closet.
Gordon was outstanding. He was so helpful - delivered us breakfast during our self isloation. The breakfast was delicious and always included eggs and bacon as well as fruit, yogurt, banana bread or toast, juice and coffee. There was enough food that we often saved some for lunch.
We had to extend our stay due to unforeseen circumstances and Gordon was able to make adjustments which allowed us to stay in the same room. He went above and beyond for us.
I would highly recommend this lovely property.

I highly recommend this hotel to you! The rooms are comfortable, stylish and large. The customer service was outstanding; they went out of their way to look after my requests. I have stayed here several times before, but this was the first time I had breakfast here which is included in the price. No paper plates and plastic cutlery here; this was a large, well cooked breakfast with china and proper silverware. Everything was first class. I will be returning often.

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful, and the location was perfect.
When we checked in, the guy at the front desk gave us a three page document with restaurant recommendations and tour recommendations. We did the full day driving tour he recommended and had a fantastic day.
The room was one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. The bed was one of the most comfortable and the bedding was superb. When I asked if I could buy the bedding and the pillow (a little piece of heaven), I was told the beds and the pillows were custom made (bummer!)
The location is perfect, within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars...overall, you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay, particularly at the current COVID pricing...

Easily the nicest place we have ever stayed. Our Queen studio was impeccably clean with wonderful amenities: toaster, kettle, pots, pans, slippers and robes. We had in-suite laundry which was a blessing coming from a week of traveling and they provided laundry detergent as well. Breakfast was provided in the morning of eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, coffee and juice. Great central location close to everything. I can’t say enough good things about this place, would absolutely recommend to everyone.

+1
We stayed in room 109, the Parkland suite and it was beautiful. It had a lovely king size bed, two large closets, a full kitchen including a washer and dryer, a seating area close to the tv, and the best feature of all was the lovely sun room with two really comfy armchairs and a large circular table, the perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine.
The bathroom was small but functional, with a single sink vanity and rainfall shower over the bathtub. The toiletries were lovely and were replaced daily by housekeeping, and the towels were so large and fluffy.
Unlike a lot of reviews for the Sydney hotel I found the breakfast area ok, it was large, functional and decorated nicely. The only thing I found slightly weird was that the staff were on full view washing the dishes and could be seen reheating the food in the microwave. I think this area should at least be screened off. The food was good, but if you went around 10am then you are left with food that has been on the warmers a while, if you can get up early then the food will be fresher, we never managed it.
One other great perk of this hotel is the ample free car parking so close to down.
I highly recommend the Sydney and would most definitely stay here again if I ever return to Charlottetown.

This hotel is close to everything downtown Charlottetown. I really enjoyed my stay. The suites were big enough for 4 and you never felt crowded. A bathroom for each bedroom. If I had to give a negative I would say they are short handed. I got the impression upon booking a day was left to clean between each booking. Due to covid. This wasn't the case. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived. They did give us another. Which appeared rushed. There was a bandaid in the drier and the guess bath had long dark hairs in it. So I didn't feel it was covid clean. Other than that. I did my lysol wipe once over and enjoyed the rest of my stay. The extra cot they gave us was like sleeping on springs. Horrible. The staff are amazing. I would return but would definitely request a better clean next time.

My friend and I stayed in a lower level, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment for a week and loved it. Beautifully furnished apartment, full kitchen, great for sharing. Nice to have the extra living area to relax in on rainy days. It had five big windows, for plenty of light. Very comfortable beds. And a washer/dryer! Unbelievable value for all that space, especially when we were splitting the cost. (One bedroom is bigger than the other, so you'll have to sort that out!) Despite being in an apartment we were still treated to the delicious buffet breakfast every morning, you can take it back to your apartment or take it out to the lovely courtyard. Friendly breakfast staff and lobby staff. Hotel location is great for walking downtown or to the harbor. We also appreciated the ample parking area, and that the staff refreshed bottle water and coffee pods in the kitchen every day, Many thanks to all.

My wife and I spent two nights here, and were extremely impressed. The transformation of this heritage building into a modern hotel has been done with great care and attention — the original red brick exterior has been beautifully maintained, while the interior has been updated to an impressive modern standard. Rooms are large, well-appointed, and perfectly maintained. As an added bonus, in front of the elevator on our floor was a fantastic massage chair, which we enjoyed very much.
The patio in front of the building is a beautiful, quiet place to relax with a drink in the evening (BYOB, the hotel does not have a bar or restaurant).
The location is perfect, away from the noise of downtown, but less than a ten minute walk to get there.
Room rate includes on-site parking and a delicious buffet breakfast (far superior to typical hotel hotel breakfast-room servings).
Staff members were gracious, pleasant, and helpful.
Overall, a great choice for a stay in Charlottetown.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay in a luxury apartment on the top floor ( 2 bedrooms, living/dining area and full kitchen). The apartment had what appeared to be 12 foot ceilings and several large “sit in” windows making it airy and bright. The apartment was elegantly furnished with light blue accents and immaculate (nicer than the pictures imo) Beds, linens and pillows were cosy and comfy. Housekeeping does an amazing job.
Breakfast was fine although room it was served in was on the “basement” level and lacked in atmosphere.
Lovely outdoor courtyard to sit in but we never had enough time in the day.
Front desk staff was great … very pleasant and helpful (Kent Rose and a lady who worked the later shift whose name I unfortunately cannot recall).
Hotel is a $30 taxi ride from YYG and within walking distance of “downtown”.
Would return in a heartbeat.
