Very good service with very nice staff. Breakfast has a range of cereal and bread for selection with coffee and tea. The room is clean with towel provided, however the wi-fi signal sometime fluctuates when you are using it from your room (3rd floor).

This is a truly fantastic place to stay. From the great downtown location, to the wonderful employees (most of which are people from other countries on work visas). The atmosphere here is just fantastic! While staying here, we were told that it rates as the second best hostel in North America and it's easy to see why! Everyone is so...

We stayed for a few days in June 2015 and the service from the staff was first class. We were given a tour of the facilities and led to our room, something I have never had in a hostel. The hostel is spotless, and a bonus is the roof top terrance, where you can bring your own food & drink...

Stayed here for three nights. Hostel is very clean. Very friendly staff. Excellent choices for breakfast to suit all. View from roof is amazing. We did the bar crawl with about 10 other residents and the guide went out of his way to make all feel welcome. Would stay here again and recommend to all.

I stayed for four days in a private room with my boyfriend. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable and warm. The kitchen and shared living areas were fantastic. All utensils were provided with free tea, coffee, breakfast and some staples like rice and milk. Staff were really friendly and willing to advise. Hostel also holds events through...

Planet Traveler is an excellent place to stay in Toronto! It's very clean, includes a great breakfast (with a huge variety of bagels, bread and spreads), has activities on various nights, has a bathroom in the room and its location near the Kensington Market area. It does take a little while to walk into the downtown area of Toronto (where...

I stayed for 6 nights and everything was great. I was welcomed by the staff who showed me the good places to visit and have me a map as well as showing me around the place. They all seemed to love working there which was great. The room (6 bed mixed dorm) itself was well equipped with lockers, a really...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
