Stayed here for three nights. Hostel is very clean. Very friendly staff. Excellent choices for breakfast to suit all. View from roof is amazing. We did the bar crawl with about 10 other residents and the guide went out of his way to make all feel welcome. Would stay here again and recommend to all.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at, a superb breakfast with a lot of choice that runs till 1pm.As well as regularly organised events on the rooftop (which has a fantastic view of the Toronto skyline). However 4 x 2 Bed privates have to share a single shower facility.

I stayed for four days in a private room with my boyfriend. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable and warm. The kitchen and shared living areas were fantastic. All utensils were provided with free tea, coffee, breakfast and some staples like rice and milk. Staff were really friendly and willing to advise. Hostel also holds events through...

Planet Traveler is an excellent place to stay in Toronto! It's very clean, includes a great breakfast (with a huge variety of bagels, bread and spreads), has activities on various nights, has a bathroom in the room and its location near the Kensington Market area. It does take a little while to walk into the downtown area of Toronto (where...

They all seemed to love working there which was great. The room (6 bed mixed dorm) itself was well equipped with lockers, a really...

I lived there for 3 nights, it's very close to the university of Toronto. Good neighborhood with convenience store and restaurant. Bus stop around 10 minutes walk and 20 minutes walking distance to St Patrick Subway station. The good things are : 1. Free tickets for Odysseo are available. Wa, the horse show was amazing,a combination of beauty and strength!...

Had an amazing time staying here. The staff are so friendly and helpful; very social atmosphere for meeting other travelers. Free breakfast!!! Good value, the neighbourhood (Kensington Market) is great to explore, close to public transit (streetcars and subway) and walking distance to downtown, spotlessly clean! Lots of fun activities planned throughout the week like pub crawls, karaoke night, etc....

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
