My elderly parents and I were called to Toronto on short notice to see my brother through the end stage of his illness. Our stay at the Baldwin Village Inn was a true gift during what was a difficult time. Highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is in town under similar circumstances, for location (proximal to the Toronto General...

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times and will stay here again and again. It's not just that it is clean and has very comfortable beds -- it is all comfortable and friendly. Tess and Roger enjoy people as much as people enjoy them. Good breakfasts with great conversation. Thank you.

I needed accommodations at the last minute and I was able to grab the last room at the Baldwin Village Inn. Roger and Tess were there to greet me when I arrived and were very welcoming. I had a room on the top floor which I found warm even with the fan running. However, for the price the place was...

Just stayed at 4 Sullivan for three nights in the upper most suite. Roger was very accommodating and kept in good contact before my arrival late in the evening from Union station. I could not get over how quiet the neighbourhood was and I slept very well! Overall 4 Sullivan is clean, quiet and very refreshing....most importantly it fits the...

My husband and I stayed in the extended stay location on Sullivan St. in late May. The location is perfect with access to the subway and cable cars to get anywhere in the city. The street is quiet although it is near some busy traffic areas. We stayed in a ground floor room with shared common areas, ensuite large bath...

We've been there for two days to visit Toronto. If you want to be close to the most important attractions, that should be your choice. We've been located in Sullivan Street since they have more than one house for guests. This particular house is very nice, with a full equiped kitchen, a lovely living room and wonderful rooms with free...

The owners (Roger & Tess) call this place an “Urban Inn,” which is describes it well. You can’t get more urban than a city, but yet I felt like I was at home, in a peaceful residential setting. The owners have 3 properties; one B&B on Baldwin, and two extended stays on Sullivan. We stayed at the Extended Stay at...

This is my 4th year visiting Baldwin Street when I return to Canada for the summers. Each time I have returned, I feel so welcomed by the kindness and sincerity of Roger and Tess. I am in good hands indeed! I have probably stayed in each room and each time I have had comfortable and clean beds and bedding. The...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Toronto's main Chinatown has the honor of being the largest in North America. Gaping down across Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue, the area is a wonderful medley of shops and restaurants, busy signs and bright red gates, a destination for foodie fun. Chinatown's streets are always bustling, packed with people and outdoor stalls hawking fresh produce and products. The restaurants and authentic marketplaces that shoulder in against each other display shining roast ducks and menus studded with dumplings and noodle bowls. The air is pervaded with music. different languages, and the smell of fried food and mouth-watering desserts. Chinatown's restaurants represent a broad range of fare, from traditional Szechuan and Shanghai foods, to other Asian delicacies, including some of the top Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean spots in the city. Whether you're in the mood for a sit-down tea house or a bubble tea to go, Chinatown is the spot to enjoy an exciting walk and the promise of leaving satisfied.
