My Financee and I stayed at the Gladstone in room 406 and 407 (not sure which themes) for 4 days this past week. The customer service was impeccable. The front desk was more than helpful with any request we had but what was even better was the location of the hotel. You are on queen street west which is like...

Our room was so unique ! They've kept all of the character (especially the antique elevator ! ) and added such a fresh artsy vibe !! Soooo charming ! I was worried when we first got to our rooms...no coffee maker...then we realized there was a small lounge set up for the 10 or so rooms on our floor and...

Wonderfully situated "art" hotel with friendly accommodating staff & lots of diversity not only in the rooms but also within the hotel. Music, Craft Fairs, Art Events, and it keeps multiplying. Although rooms are small, they are each uniquely appointed. There is a central lounge on each floor which becomes a de facto living room with comfy seating and morning...

Arrived at the Gladstone last Friday evening and further to a tip by Byron at the desk, we were able to get a spot on Gladstone Ave right beside the hotel on it's west side. Since the adjacent building is under construction, there are no signs and we were able to leave the vehicle there overnight and well into the...

Two friends and I stayed at The Gladstone for one night prior to checking into an apartment whilst visiting Toronto for a friends wedding. The hotel staff were very accomodating during the booking process (emailing from UK) and offered a pull out bed as an addition to the double room to sleep the three of us. We opted for one...

We have stayed at The Drake and here. I prefer The Drake, but still really liked the Gladstone. Both have very tiny rooms but somehow manage to make it work. I felt the rooms at The Drake were more smartly designed, and I really liked the industrial feel. The shower at the Gladstone was very very small. The cafe at...

I stayed at The Gladstone for 3 nights at the start of a business trip to Canada. I like the artsy Queen West area (beware - hipsters everywhere) and have stayed at The Drake several times before, but there was no availability this time round so ended up booking the Gladstone. It was a good move. This area's great -...

Had a wonderful stay. The rooms were all fun and funky. The complimentary coffee and tea in the morning was great. The Berry Bowl in the Cafe was delicious (and so were the fennel sausages). Most of all, the staff were friendly and helpful (Kelvin is fantastic at the front desk).

I had a night to spend in Toronto while I was in the area for a friend's wedding, so I went online searching for a place to stay. I didn't want to board up in a cookie cutter hotel, I wanted a bit of an experience.. and I got one. When I went to the site and found that each...

The Gladstone Hotel was recommended to me by a number of colleagues who all stay here as part of a large business trip. It surpassed any expectations I had! Where to start?! We had to ship a large amount of freight from overseas to the Gladstone, no problem it was all waiting in our rooms for us arriving. We also...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
