I always serve as my elderly parents’ unofficial travel agent, and after much research, when they wanted to visit Toronto last year, this was the hotel I chose. When planning my own trip, I was given glowing recommendations about the property from both of them. Everything they described was spot-on: clean, well-appointed, safe, wonderful service, perfect location, good value. Although I thrive on variety, and rarely stay in the same hotel twice, I can’t imagine having a more perfect experience than we had here. Something I didn’t encounter in all my research was the proximity to public transport and the underground shopping facility “The Path”, which are pretty much right here on site. What a bonus! On top of this, it’s also within walking distance to the Distillery District, Entertainment District, St Lawrence Marketplace, and the waterfront (a ferry to the islands is a 100% must do!) Of course, it was so well-situated we never needed to use public transportation as every place we wanted to see was in such close proximity. With its marriage of historical and modern architecture, One Kings West is the quintessential Toronto hotel. (Try their coffee-shop as well. Great service and options.)…

I've stayed at One King twice this year. I orginally booked because the price was reasonable and the location was great. After staying there in April I returned because I was so impressed with the hotel. It is very well kept and clean. Both of my rooms had great views of the CN tower and city. The beds are comfortable, more on the firm side, which I prefer. I bought food and used the kitchenette every day for breakfast. Front desk and the bell staff are courteous and attentive. I found all the staff, regardless of if they were helping me, to be exceptionally kind. Whenever I was in the elevator with someone they would smile, greet me and strike up a conversation. The location is a short walk to the arena, train station, and there are so many great restaurants within minutes of the hotel. I loved going to the Daily Ritual Cafe (which is attached to the hotel) in the morning, grabbing a coffee and walking around the corner to Berczy park to people watching. The Room was great. Clean, Private yet I would have liked a better view.....even though the person that checked me in apperantly had me at a good spot. Valet Was FANTASTIC 💯👍 Elfeneh Admassu took GREAT care of me and my vehicle. I will be making future trip to Toronto and will choose 1 King west again. I also Hope to see my Friend, Elfeneh aswell. We stayed at One King West for 3 nights. Our experience was great. The hotel is within a short walk from Rogers Center, Eaton Center, coffee shops, restaurants, drugstores and food market. The subway entrance is just out in front of hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Chloe at the front desk was wonderful to deal with. We had an issue with our room the first night. Explained to the front desk our issue and Chloe moved us to another room with a free upgrade. She also gave us a complementary breakfast. Also Matthew the consierge was exceptionally friendly. He always had a smile and went out of his way to say hi and to ask us how our day was. He was knowledgeable and helpful about the area and places around the hotel. We had a great experience and would definitely come back ❤️…

The hotel is situated in the historic TD building and maintained many of the original features. In a city that has torn down so much of its history, this was a draw for us. We were in the heart of downtown and able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Its a short walk to Union Station if arriving by train. The subway is outside the door. Our room was very comfortable and quiet and came with a small kitchenette and we didn't need to eat out but there were so many excellent choices nearby. There is also a small café attached where we had a very good breakfast.

Historic and charming hotel with a great location. Highly walkable and close to transportation stops. Helpful and attentive staff. Clean and comfortable rooms that comes with a washer/dryer. Will highly consider to return to this hotel in my next trip to Toronto. Highly recommended.

I had high hopes for this hotel as it was almost $400 a night but was disappointed. I called them before hand to let them know we would not be arriving till after 1am as our flight wasn’t due to get in until after midnight. We were hungry and they have a late night menu which was delicious our problem started the next day when I called asking to move rooms as our ac did not work. They told us sure but we will have to check out of this one by 11 I said that’s fine are you able to move out bags to our new room they said that wasn’t a problem. I then went down around 7 am to grab some water as we had forgot to get some the night before they told me vending was on the 12 floor and to my surprise every option in both vending machines were “sold out” I went back down and she asked me how many I was looking for I said probably 4 which she replied ohhhhh we only do two complementary bottles of water… lol I was fine with paying for them but what ever I don’t care. They ended up bringing us three bottles which was most definitely the cheapest you could buy at the grocery store but again it was fine. We then went down handed them our bags they gave us two tickets and we had a wonderful day exploring. When we got back that evening and gave them our tickets they had no idea what was happening. Could not find our bags and I had to explain to three different people that they did indeed not give us new keys yet they eventually got it sorted and me saying ok so our bags should be in the room she said yes. What a surprise when we got there and our bags were no where in sight. As I was going back down a lovely man found them and was bringing them up. I worked in the hospitality industry for over ten years in a not so high class hotel but can guarantee the service was a heck of a lot better. Long story short the ac still did not work properly, rooms are dated and gross. The hairdryer has to be 20 years old and the service sucked. For what they charged they treated us like we were a nuisance and you can stay somewheres for the same cost and just as close to everything. I will say the bartender was nice!…

Our stay was excellent! The room was a smaller suite in the historic side of the hotel. It had a small kitchenette and all the standard amenities. The bed was a very comfortable king! Overall, our suite was quiet, clean and cozy! The staff were friendly and very helpful. Would stay again and would recommend to others!

I arrived at this hotel for a business meeting on Aug 3 2023, the ffront desk presented me with a letter with dos and donts and warnings for caribana , which initally threw me off, they didnt give that letter to all guest checking in. I was not there for caribana , i was there for business meetings, however i recognized that the hotel was loud, staff was unprofessional in greeting guest and they were grouping me into a specific demographic because I was american and black. then i went to the room and the air con was not working . had to wait 1 hour for someone to fix it. The worse part of this stay was on the evening of Aug 4 at 10:30pm is that experience i had with the bar tender at the resturant and the front desk manager , i went to the bar for a dinner and drink and to meet a new collegue for dinner around 10pm and after walking 10 blocks we sat at 2 of 5 empty seats at the bar close to to the security guards, after 5 minutes i had to ask for water , from the bar tender ( he didnt offer) , and when my collegue arrived , the same , during our convo he interrupted our convo after about 13 minutes and told us to move to the lobby and away from the bar. He never offered us a drink menu of food menu .....I immediately asked what was going on, thinking something happened, he then stated "u need to move " this is for paying guest.... I stated to him I was a guest of the hotel showed my key and also there to eat , he was rude and didnt apologize, I then asked for his manager ... the bar was not full with people only 4 other people sat there it was not busy. the manager in photo attached then came and i explained the situation. He spoke to the bar tender and then told me and my collegue that we needed to move if we didn't want to have a drink at the bar with the bar tender serving us. He was rude , abnoxious and the did not correct his bar tender who was wrong and lack any service . I stated to him all the bar tender had to do was apologize for his behavior , instead he said he wont make him apologize he did nothing wrong. the staff lacked hospitality , professionalism, no apology nor refund or comp of anything. I totally understand poor service in service industry by bar tenders and waiters they make little money but the real disappointment was in the manger who did nothing to remove the staff, make him apologize for his clear disrespect of the guest and lack of service or even make up for the issue. the bar tender was a middled aged big boned about 250 lbs caucasian male with brown hair and a very round built , if u ever see him at that bar dont tip or have service from him. The photo below is of the manager, he should be fired or never hired at any reputable hotel . His lack of professionalism and approach to ensure that the cutomer care is handled was obvious. The 2 security assigned saw the entire thing and also did nothing , they saw where the bar tender was rude and unprofessional but did not even tell the manager anything they stayed quiet the entire time. not even attempting to assist me in my distress. it was clear that they were there to ensure that people didnt get into the residence and room area only I immdietely left this property at midnight i checked into the Hyatt Regency which was absolutly an amazing experience, they didn't have any letter about caribana to guest, their security was pleseant and their bar tender and hostess were available until 2 am to serve food at the resturant and greet guest. I would never book this hotel again and I would advise if you are visiting tornoto this is not the hotel you want to stay at as the service is bad and not worth the money or stress. there are a number of other hotel brands in tornoto that service is better than this one and the price point is not cheap so it tells you that they just dont have customer as their priority.…
