My husband and I stayed at Les Amis for our honeymoon. We requested vegan meals and our hostess, Michelle, delivered! Her breakfasts were tasty, with plenty to eat. She provided coffee (and tea, I think), juice, bread, yogurt (vegan), granola (non-dairy milk), fresh fruit, a yummy vegan entrée (one day it was a vegan banana crepe) and usually a vegan...

Our room was quiet, clean and small. The bed was comfortable. We had an in-suite bathroom and shower. We stayed several days and the breakfasts each day were different and wonderful. If you want a big hotel experience, stay elsewhere. But for a good solid B and B experience, this place was fantastic!

My double room for single use was pretty spacious. Apart from its very central location, the street is surprisingly quiet. Delicious breakfast every day, plenty to choose from and of good quality. Sharing views and conversation with other guests gave my stay a homely feel. Michele was attentive and ready to help every morning. An address to keep in mine...

Stayed here one night on the family day long weekend. You can't beat the location, right downtown just off Yonge and the price is right. They weren't doing breakfast that weekend but the price reflected that. It's not a fancy b&b and I didnt' see any changes at all from when I stayed there at least five years ago. If...

After killing 9 bees in a very small room, we were already ready to leave the place no view Breakfast fairly acceptable An address to forget, particularly because we saw so many good ratings on the French Guide du routard In conclusion we were very disappointed... we will never go to this place again.

Dear Catherine, We are very sorry about your experience at Les Amis during your one night stay in October. We understand completely your unhappiness in finding wasps in your bedroom. We would have felt the same way. As discussed with your friend at your arrival it was the first year (and the first time) we experienced that sort of incident....

I had the pleasure to stay at Les Amis for two weeks during my Toronto visit and have to say that I really have nothing to complain about. The B&B is perfectly located in a small and quite street right next to Yonge street, so downtown Toronto is in 500m walking distance. On top of that, the house is cozy...

I spent 2 nights at Les Amis and had one of their rooms on the top floor. Decorated to reflect the contemporary but slightly country feel, it was small but perfect, with a double bed, a private bathroom, table and chairs and television. For me the presence of wifi helped no end in keeping me in contact with people at...

I hate hotels because it is industrially soulless! I always seek a bit of warmth when I am traveling for work far from family. B&B is the best solution, but they do tend at times to be as luxurious and boring than hotel. But Les Amis kept the soul of a B&B, clean, pretty room, all amenities you have at...

Headed to Toronto for second time. Again for a conference at the Westin Harbourside, a great place for a conference but not my ideal place to stay...stuffy and too much artificial air for a 24/7 week long experience again.... And their breakfast was outrageously expensive at $40!!!!! So I needed a better alternative to insure my comfort and sanity. I...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

“Third floor was a bit off putting at first and worth the walk. Only two rooms there both wit he suite baths. Second floor has two rooms that share a good sized bath. The other guests whose rooms faced the street mentioned hearing commotion when the bars on Yong st closed. I am a sound sleeper who did not share this experience.”
