We have never stayed at the hotel so can't comment on that aspect but we've been to the restaurant multiple times and we have attended a few events here. We've always had a great time. Their cocktails are amazing and very interesting! The food is great. They have this poetry jam in the basements that we just kind of stumbled...

While the hotel itself lived up to the majority of the hype, there were a number of minor niggles that edged that 5/5 rating just out of reach. However, that aside, the hotel itself oozes character, with the vibrant and bustling atmosphere, through to the quirky interior and staff. From the moment you step foot through the door at The...

I did not know what to expect and loved the quirkiness of the boutique hotel. The room reminded me of the Yotel in New York. Small but efficient. The room was comfortable and very modern. Lots of delicious looking snacks and wonderful toiletries that were available for purchase at the Drake General Store.

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the two years and overall the experience has been absolutely amazing. We were upgraded to a Den on our first visit, but have stayed in a Nook every time since then. The room may be small, but the decor and the atmosphere is unlike anything I have experienced before. The beds...

We stayed at The Drake Hotel for New Year's Eve this year and it was FANTASTIC. NYE is my SO's birthday, so we always try to do something fun to celebrate. This year we couldn't make travel plans work, so we decided to attend the event at The Drake and stay the night afterwards. This was such a good call...

This is such an awkward hotel, but it's charming all around. Parking is difficult. The rooms are tiny and terrific. The staff is outstanding and helpful. The partiers down in the bar and restaurant and enthusiastic and drunk. I can't explain how and why it works, but we had a fabulous time. 5 Stars for being an utterly different experience.

It appears that the Drake has become our birthday celebration destination of choice. I was there with my husband and his siblings in November, and then again in December with the lot of them, to celebrate a sixtieth. Second visit, just as wonderful as the first. Server, room, noise levels, food, wine and beer suggestions all spot on. Dessert, delicious....

The annual Bond party is a coveted event. This year, it took place at the Drake Hotel. Coming from the downtown office towers, I boarded the westbound Queen streetcar. Traffic was interminable and by Ossington, I decided to walk the remainder of the journey. This was fortuitous as it afforded me the opportunity to soak in the neighbourhood vibe and...

Our room was stylish and clean. The location is the best part of this hotel, so many great shops and places to eat. The fried chicken waffles and drake breakfast were our favourites. I recommend visiting this location if you are ever in Toronto!

When I think about staying in Toronto, I always think about staying at The Drake...great memories of past visits for sleep-overs, music and food, so when able for a night of fun, it is the location that I would share to spend with someone special. The accommodations and the entire vibe of the establishment resonate with me, and I enjoy...

Staying in Queen Street and West Queen West

Neighbourhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
