I have stayed at this property on several occasions because it is very convenient and has a European flair. I usually catch an NHL, NBA or MBA game because the hotel in Maple Leaf Square is very conveniently located between the 2 facilities. Great atmosphere in the hotel bar and restaurant pre and post game. The staff are very attentive... More

We stayed at the Le Germain in Montreal in December and loved it. The rooms were too dark and clubbish but the Toronto hotel has everything we loved about Montreal plus brighter newer rooms. This is a great boutique hotel that has a real personal feel to it. The service is excellent and friendly. An example... the check-in was quick... More

A very pleasant stay in downtown Toronto on a Saturday evening. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Excellent restaurant V (best dinners on my trip); delicious breakfasts. Large and peaceful rooms, definitely a boutique hotel. For business and weekends. Thank you.

I came to Toronto for a conference but the conference hotels were way overpriced and I spoiled myself by booking at this spendy spot nearby for less than the Intercondi. On a side street in the midst of urban renewal near both the coastline and the entertainment and financial districts, this is a beautifully designed and executed property. Pluses: great... More

Pros: Great shower with huge stall and lots of water pressure from hand-held shower head. Large firm bed. Responsive, friendly staff. Cons: Tries too hard to be cool and trendy but forgets the details and the fact that real people have to use the room. No hand soap in washroom when I checked in. Finicky light fixtures that make it... More

I have stayed at Le Germain twice now and plan on staying there again. The rooms are immaculate, the bed is SO comfy, and the free breakfast in the morning has a great selection. There is also a coffee maker in the main lobby that makes lattes, hot chocolate, teas, and cafemocha with various flavour variations, complimentary with your stay.... More

Stayed at Germaine in Maple Leaf Square for my 50th birthday. Can't afford Leafs Tickets so my husband planned an evening at Real Sports to watch the game and stay at Germaine for the night. Love the hotel. Been staying here every 90 days for the last 5 years. With the new construction though the amount of light that gets into your room is now limited. And their gym is smaller than their rooms. If you are expecting to train or workout during your stay consider joining another gym round the block or something. Staff... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
