I enjoyed my stay here in Sept. 2012. It was easy to find and close access to metro. I felt fairly safe walking around alone at night but I'm always aware of my surroundings no matter what city I'm in. The room was cozy and everything was clean and tidy, just like others have mentioned. There were lots of choices...

Short version: I stayed for a whole month. It was perfect. Clean, friendly, lots of breakfast options, great location, wonderful hosts, great value, probably exactly everything you are looking for! Long version: My stay at the Downtown Home Inn could not have been a better experience. I stayed a month for work and was really impressed. I felt very at...

The Downtown Home Inn is a lovely place to stay. Its situated in just the right area, right between downtown for transport, sports and restaurants and further north where all the shopping area is. The owner is very friendly and really looks after the place, it's always tidy, very clean and he's always got a pot of coffee made whenever...

I've been in many, many hotels, inns, motels in the last 2 weeks all over Canada. This was the best value. I meant to stay only 1 night but came back for 2 more nights. It's pretty, comfortable, homey and spacious. All of these qualities surprised me for a very inexpensive inn in Toronto.

I loved staying at the Downtown Inn B&B. The place has a very homey feel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was very comfortable, cozy, spacious, clean, and quiet. The bathrooms are well maintained. The variety at breakfast is awesome! And the location is excellent - right on Church St., one of the main streets for...

Since my first stay last September this has been my first choice when I need to stay in Toronto for work. It is clean, warm, comfortable and quiet and James always makes me feel welcome and safe. It's a great option for people taking a weekend course

This was a great place to stay! We would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to friends. It was easy to book and the manager provided a lot of helpful information in advance. Everything was spotlessly clean, comfortable, stylish, and well-appointed. We were in a back bedroom on the second floor so there was very little street noise....

I stayed at this lovely B & B for one day while on business but it was enough to leave a very positive lasting impression. I stayed at the Lily room, a very cozy room for this lone traveler. It was very clean and had a very comfortable bed. The common areas and bathrooms are spotless. James was very helpful...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
