The hotel is fine, but the staff were outstanding. Carolina greeted us upon arrival and was welcoming, friendly and professional. She also helped us out during our 6 night stay arranging for taxi cabs etc. The servers in the restaurant were also wonderful, as were the cleaning staff. Thanks for taking such good care of us.
Courtyard has a great location, with most of central Toronto within walking distance. Although clearly an older property, my South Tower room was pleasantly decorated and a decent size, with a huge flat-screen TV and drip coffee maker. The bathroom layout was a little strange, with the wash basin completely separate from the bath and toilet, in a separate area with the closet. I didn’t have any issues with noise and I found the room heating/cooling responsive and easy to control. Breakfast was from a menu in the Bistro café on lobby level. Service was friendly and the food fresh and tasty. Starbucks coffee was excellent. The restaurant was only operational for breakfast but some drinks and light snacks (including home-made sandwiches) could be purchased at other times, day and night. I appreciated the complimentary laundry facility, which had large professional standard washers and dryers available, and even free washing liquid provided. The staff I interacted with were all extremely friendly and helpful. They made me feel very welcome and ensured a pleasant stay. I would particularly recognise Pauline from the house-keeping team, who kept my room spotless and well stocked. As Bonvoy Gold I was given a bag of complimentary snacks at check in, but no room upgrade was offered. This is not a luxury hotel, but a comfortable and friendly base for visitors to Toronto. There are many different viewpoints on hotels but we found this to be just what we needed. It's well located for downtown Toronto, the rooms were good, the reception were very very helpful anytime we needed anything. The bar/restaurant area was good, service was very efficient and the bar staff very helpful. The concierge booked our trip up to Niagara falls and a taxi back to the airport and made sure we got picked up at the right time.Nothing negative to say about this hotel and will be happy to stay there next time in Toronto.
Starting with the good points : The room was big and clean. The hotel is located downtown Toronto BUT we had the worst experience ever. When we arrived with the car the valet parking was missing, we had to park our car by ourself (and still we paid for valet parking). Someone scratched our car in the parking and when we told the hotel the valet parking laughed at us. There were very incompetent and impolite. The next day, when we arrived in the valet parking, the man was on his phone and didn’t help us. We complaint to the hotel manager but he didn’t care about anything. He told us we will receive an email from their legal department but we are still waiting for this email. We travel a lot and are used to stay in hotels but this was one of the worst hotel we stayed at. The staff is so impolite and incompetent.…
First, service at check in was great! Friendly staff that show true interest in the customer. Special thanks to Faiz, who gave us a small gift for an occasion we were celebrating, it was so thoughtful. Also special thanks to Carolina for being friendly and accommodating. Rooms are renovated and the bed is huge, comfortable and clean. Bathrooms still need upgrade but the room exceeded our expectations. Location is great, 5 min walk to Dundas square and is surrounded by all amenities needed.
Front desk staff member was so rude, abrupt & unhelpful at check in. There was confusion over our booking arrangement. She became aggressive towards weary travellers who just arrived in country. Long blonde fake braid, with Eastern European accent. Gave us no room information. She called manager to back us up, an Asian guy with even less manners. Ironically when ever we passed the reception desk she was behaving similarly to other guests. The elevators are so slow & unreliable too. I’d never stay here again.
A one night stay. Check in was done efficiently and front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The decor and fittings are now looking a bit dated. The big downside is the noise. I know you would expect some coming from a major road such as Yonge Street but the hotel is not particularly well sound proofed. We stayed in room 612 near the lifts and there is a continual whistling noise from the lifts shafts. I’ve used Mariot as a go-to business hotel but some of my experiences have been up to scratch and this experience was below par.
I stayed at this location as I wanted to see some of Toronto before heading to another Marriott property near airport. The start of the trip was challenging as I had a flat tire with the rental car. A few hours after arriving in Toronto I had made it to the CY. I wasn't sure where the parking was so I had called the hotel and Anurag stayed on the phone with me till I arrived in front of the entrance. I was fortunate that he kept one of the parking spaces for me! As a single female traveling, it was very much appreciated to have parking on location. Saturday night it was full and by Sunday afternoon, not many using the garage. Upon arriving, he gave me a snack bag, which was another treat! I was famished sitting on the highway, waiting for emergency services! I asked for dining recommendations that were walking distance and he provided me Hair of the Dog! Delicious!! The room (#1118) faced an apartment building but not a big deal to me. The couple nights I was there, the room worked for me.…
This was a nice hotel in downtown Toronto. Room was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for my family of four. Lots of shopping nearby and most people were very friendly. The breakfast closed at like 1030 and wasn’t open at lunch. But there was a Tim Hortons nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming and it was good that I could park the car here. The room was really dated and quite disappointing. We found the location was ideal and enjoyed exploring the city. Food was average and again the staff were good.
