Perfectly comfy place to stay for a reasonable fee including a nice self serve breakfast. There is WiFi which is reliable. Downsides: shared bathrooms, tiny TV (who watches it anyway) and !VHS player. No children under 12 allowed either.

I stayed here for two nights alone. The place was easy to find, it is extremely close to the likes of the eaton centre and central Toronto, only a 5-10 minute walk. The bathroom was shared but was always clean. Breakfast was lovely, felt like I was in my own home! I definitely recommend this if you're on a budget...

Clean, pleasant B&B, the owner very helpful and supportive, position of the establishment in the hart of old city Toronto, which means main attractions could be reach walking.Standard buffet breakfast with lots of varieties that keeps you going in the morning. We will consider staying there again.

This B&B was a lovely place to spend a few days at in Toronto. Close to central Toronto and in walking distance of shops and restaurants. The McGill Inn is an old rustic building with lots of charm. It has rooms with ensuites and a few without - I had one without and it still worked well for me. The...

I almost hesitate to write this review because good bargain lodging is difficult to find in this city as it is and this property already fills up months in advance, but it is only fair to share this "secret" with others so they can have as pleasant a stay as I did. Each room has a bed (with daily housekeeping...

Lovely clean 3 story walk-up. 3rd floor Aqua room was huge. Our Inn keeper Darrel was friendly & gave good suggestions, he even sat with us in the back deck & warded off a raccoon. We pretty much walked everywhere - great exercise to wear off all the food & drink. The only downfall is the construction of 2 highrises...

I was there in July 2010 for 4 nights and I loved this place. Very close to the centre, a cosy place, with a self service breakfast and a very nice small garden at the back. I also loved their very nice friendly cat that came and slept on my bed. Definitely value for money I strongly recommend this place...

Ergin was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I helped my mother check in and I went back home to leave her in the big city for a few days(she's from a small northern town). Ergin not only made her stay comfortable but he was also very welcoming ad patient with her. My mother doesn't have a cell phone or...

My wife and I have stayed here several times while visiting our daughter. The place has a relaxed charm and the location is central to get around. There are lots of restaurants near by and the streetcar is a block away. We recommend this place to all of our friends visiting the city.

Located in a very central neighborhood in downtown Toronto, walking distance from every touristic attraction and the nicest neighborhoods. Very cozy and familiar place, characteristic Victorian to building. The room was clean and spacious, good breakfast included and access to the kitchen available any time. Ergin welcomed us warmly and was very helpful with suggestions about the city beauties and...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
