I stayed in Toronto for 3 days in the summer. On arrival, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had my own room and a shared bathroom. Granted it wasn't the best quality, wasn't the cleanest place I've ever stayed in and lack of A/C made it a bit uncomfortable during the night. But it was a pretty standard...

You can tell the staff are nice & polite very friendly to deal with. there maybe a shortage in staff at Neill Wycik? They need a total overall of a paint & detail cleaning job. carpets need to be thrown out. there grimmy. The room itself is not bad.for what it is worth. basically you get what you pay for.Im...

Stayed here for two nights in August. The worst two nights of my life. First of all you can't check in till 4pm. When we checked in there was no parking spaces left so we had to park down the road which was a bit of an inconvenience with our suitcases and in the 30degree heat. Secondly the room was...

I need something for on night. And because of location and price I choose this on. But it was mistake. In nowadays no free WiFi in room is a misunderstood. Room was very poor, dirty, bed was uncomfortable. I'm sure that cleaning service is there only once per day. So with late check-inn and early check-out I had to use...

This, for me, is a student hostel not a hotel. The rooms are very basic and small and with a shared bathroom and kitchen. My initial impression of Neill-Wycik was quite negative, it's an unattractive building with very slow and unreliable elevators and the rooms are unattractive. However, there is free wifi in some areas (such as the wifi lounge),...

I decided this trip last moment and stayed here. There is no A/C yes but it is close to everything!!! My room was equipped with a desk a bed and some shelves. Great view from room and shared bathroom and kitchen per every 4 rooms. Ask for a fan at the front desk. I didn't know you could and I...

This was recommended to me by a fellow traveller when I found I had to stay longer in Toronto. I booked online but also visited as I was staying close by. My only issue with this hostel was that you had to wait until 4 pm to book in - it meant that I had to wander around Toronto with...

had to stay for 2 weeks for school...The room itself is very basic ( a single bed and a desk) and is in an apartment like unit that includes three other rooms. All four rooms share two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a lounge - pretty much everything needed. NO MICROWAVE. one bathroom was right in front of my room but...

This Hostel lacks basic facilities like a fan, bedside light making it very uncomfortable. Hostel is really dirty and rank, in need of a good freshen up. Staff are nice and the location is good for downtown Toronto.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
