Overpriced hotel and old rooms..absolute need to do a big repair in the overall infrastructure and rooms. Floors are grey and probably so for ages. I cannot imagine another hotel where I paid so much for such for such a low quality.
i love everything about my stay in Chelsea hotel. close to everything, so many restaurants and fast food chain to choose outside the hotel. so close to Eaton Center for shopping. transportation is no problem. i used Lyft all the time and it was quick and easy. Will stay there again if i visit Toronto again.
Great service, comfortable bed clean room. Nice area for adults only to swim with a view. Great options for food. Great stay for couples. The check in and check out went smoothly and open to answer questions
We booked an Express Deal through Priceline.com and ended up at the Chelsea. A good downtown location but this hotel is old and tired. Wallpaper is stained and peeling at most seams. Tile grout in tub area discoloured and tub floors looked dirty. Floor tiles in bathroom were chipped. Air conditioning too cold in one room and too warm in another. No ability to adjust temp. Beds were comfortable. We would have expected much better for the $320 per night that we paid. Add $40 +tax for parking per night. No freebies here. Breakfast buffet is $35 + tax!
This is an older, high rise hotel in a great location in downtown Toronto. The rooms were outdated but clean. There are plans to update. The price was very reasonable for downtown Toronto. It is close to restaurants, bars and stores.
All electrical outlets were loose, even the two USB ports. A few time, the door was not locking properly when leaving the room. Just locking it from inside was fixing the issue. It's near the Yonge and Dondas so expect some noise. The kid pool is good but the main slide is only opened during the week-end up to 1pm.
Very disappointing. It was expensive to stay there and we even had a special rate. If I paid full price I would have been upset. Not worth the $. Rooms are small. Only double beds, teen room is dingy and everything cost $1, plus the cleaning service came in our room, without knocking, ignoring the no thank you sign on the door. Not a good feeling to know that they just go in your room whenever they like. Check in was good and check out was fine though am apology for the intrusion didn’t seem like enough.
I was extremely displeased with my stay at Chelsea Hotel. Awful quality rooms. The room was an absolute let down and did not match the photos provided at all. The room was extremely small, outdated and smelt of rubbing alcohol. The “balcony” was a minuscule cement pad that was cracked and falling apart. The room and bathroom were extremely outdated. Check in took forever and the lobby was packed full of travellers with no direction of where to go from staff. Staff seemed to be of no help to their guests and we’re more preoccupied in conversations with coworkers than answering questions or providing guidance. Extremely upset with the quality of this hotel and would not recommend.
Pictures don’t look like the rooms. Wouldn’t stay again - everything dirty and old. Glad it was only one night! Parking was expensive. a/c was way too loud and made weird noises to even use, dirty floors, just outdated.
My mother’s purse was stolen in the hotel lobby restaurant bar. Hotel manager was rude when tried to explain the situation. Security and bar tender both claimed purses and wallets are stolen frequently from there and yet the hotel did not take precautions to ensure it does not happen again. If we had stayed at a Marriott or Hilton we would have felt safer and been recompensed with something, instead the hotel told us it wasn’t their problem. Rooms are outdated and smelly. Everything was falsely advertised, the “water fun park” is one tiny water slide that isn’t open until January. And the “game room” has many old broken pin ball machines. I don’t have any positive things to say about this hotel and do not feel safe here.
