My husband and I stayed here for our wedding annivesary for 4 nights. The hotel has great first impressions, lovely lobby and reception area with friendly staff, Gislaine at the front desk who checked us in was one of the nicest front of house staff members I have ever come across, always smiling, pleasant to talk to and deal with...

This hotel presents very well with a lovely lobby with nice flowers and very pleasant doorman and well presented staff. The pool area and hot tubs with a view on the 18th floor really add some nice touches. However once inside the room, some basic things are lacking. Only one side of the bed had a side table and there...

My husband and I stayed in one of the jacuzzi rooms for two nights as part of our honeymoon and couldn't have wished for a better hotel. After check in I received a courtesy call from reception checking everything was ok with the room, which was a nice touch. Then, while we were unpacking the hotel's reservation manager arrived with...

My family checked into the hotel. You can use the valet parking or self park. We self parked, and it was very convenient. Inside, the hotel is beautiful. The rooms are terrific, and the breakfast is fantastic! The location is great. It is however, near a homeless shelter, which may make some people a little uncomfortable, but we really didn't...

There were six of us on a girls trip and though I live in Toronto, stayed over night in this hotel with my friends. We have two large rooms - we were able to get them side by side. Each room had a small kitchenette. The beds were so so comfy as well as the pillows. Breakfast was included (and...

Our room had a good view of the area. Well appointed, clean and comfortable. We took advantage of the salt water pool, enjoyed the rooftop views at sunset. Ate well at the breakfast buffet and dinner. Found great restaurants nearby. One drawback was the flight of steps at the entrance. While there is construction, when complete the area will be...

Having read some negative reviews here I was a little nervous about this booking. I didn't need to worry! The only downside about this hotel is the area. There are homeless people sitting on the sidewalks but they don't bother you so it stopped bothering me. That being said we had three day hop on-hop off bus tickets and the...

Visited the Grand hotel for 2 nights(fri/sat) with my family. The hotel is beautiful, great pool, stunning rooftop patio with 2 hot tubs and a nice restaurant. For the price of accommodations I would have expected a little more cleanliness in the rooms. Mildew, grungy floors and even someone's sock awaited us in our junior 2 bedroom suite. The bell...

I had a great stay at the Grand Hotel and Suites. I reserved a king suite and they upgraded me to a two-story, two-bedroom, two-bath suite. It was posh but not pretentious. Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
