I am an Accor Diamond member. Having just spent 17 wonderful nights at Novotel in Montreal was looking forward to our 7 night stay at this Novotel. We survived one night. In summary-tired rooms, faulty light fitting, aircon didn’t cool, uncomfortable bed with awful pillows, 3rd rate breakfast. Poorly trained staff with no idea of Accor system. No manager on site. An insult to the Accor brand.
Hotel is good value for the money. Clean, modern. One thing that was annoying is that the black out curtains do not cover the whole window leavnig openings at the edges and therefore defeating their purpose.
This hotel has THE WORST customer service. When we checked in they knew there A/c was not working because they had no frion. It was +40 , we had 2 young children and when we tried to get compensation they kept giving us the run around. The manager apperantly never works... How convenient. It's over priced hotel for nothing. I suggest you stay elsewhere if you have the chance.
For us the location was great, we didn't have to contend with driving into the city as there was a subway station attached to the shopping centre that the Novotel was also apart of, it was easy to find driving from Montreal and easy for us to depart for our drive to Sault Ste Marie. Check in was efficient, typical Novotel decor, room was quiet, bed was comfortable, air-conditioning worked well, bathroom clean, good shower pressure. Secure parking underneath the building. Another shopping centre across the road with an excellent supermarket for food supplies. Subway trip into Toronto city was $3.25 each way, the subway trains were clean, not overcrowded and took about 25 minutes each way. Perfect for us. Nothing else to really add - a typical Novotel.
The only reason I gave 3 stars rather than 2 is because you do not have to go outside to access the subway / transit. The first room we were put in was made up but not cleaned. The staff was good about it and moved us to another room but at first impression it was run down. It looks like they recently renovated some of the room but the tub was painted and peeling, also very slippery with the paint. the towel bars were loose a coming off the wall. The overall room was okay but not what we expected from a midscale hotel as they proclaim.
Great location but hotel and rooms need some TLC. Breakfast decent but nothing special. Also would expect to be able to have parking included if staying at hotel. No recognition for status is disappointing
Very nice hotel that offers underground parking, has direct access to the subway (which allows you to get to the downtown core in about 30 minutes), and is located close to many restaurants. You will be very comfortable at the hotel, and will not go hungry in that neighbourhood! Check in was very easy and fast thanks to an efficient staff. Special thank you to the gentleman (I think he was the manager on duty - I did not get his name) who helped me find the wheelchair accessible entrance to the subway. He left the reception desk and walked to the station, using the non accessible entrance, and made his way back to the hotel using the accessible exit to the station, to make sure he would give me the right directions. This is really going above and beyond what I would expect from hotel staff. A great stay, and I am looking forward to going back!…
We stayed in a regular room. It was clean and nicely decorated. No issues with check in. It is a bit out of the way if you are hoping to have easy access to downtown attractions, but it was significantly less expensive than the downtown hotels so we didn’t mind.
Excellent location matched with excellent service. Best service and accommodation in North York. Always treated as part of the family. Top Front end, especially MIKHAIL KOROLKO, Front Office Manager. As a disabled senior we have been treated with respect and excellent care, THANK YOU
There is a serious problem at this property. I am going to be speaking to someone at the Accor Executive team (parent company of Novotel). This property has not switched from its central heater to its central chiller. As such, the rooms facing the Sun during the day are practically a sauna. Front desk is apathetic. After two hours of fighting I was able to get another room where the AC worked. Strangely, it was a renovated Executive room which was a paid upgrade but the front desk relented and allowed me to move. Front desk representative Mukarar is aware of this issue.
