Good service at arrival, nice bar, large, quiet and comfortable rooms. Not the newest but clean. Couple of minutes walk to Union Station and St. Lawrence Market, walking distance to most Toronto attractions. Several restaurants and bars just opposite.

First time staying at this hotel. I recall when it was built many years ago but it has been kept up with the times. Speedy check in and out. Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Simple rooms but comfortable and spacious. Clean and housekeeping staff there if you wanted a quick clean and straighten up. Pool area clean with...

Stayed here for 4 nights, staff friendly and very helpful when organizing tickets for city tour and pick ups for airport. Beds comfortable and room large. Decent sized bathroom and all very clean. Our room was on the 3rd floor at the front and was very quiet, didn't hear a thing. Didn't have breakfast included but still eat in the...

We keep coming back to the Novotel on the Esplanade for several reasons: rooms are quiet, parking is available and the proximity to exploring downtown Toronto can't be beat. Each of these things adds value to the stay here. Staff has always been terrific too.

Novotel is located on the Esplanade and is a 5 minutes walk from the Harbour. The rooms and the amenities in the bathroom are basic. It does not offer room service and there is hardly anything in the mini bar. Maybe I was expecting more from Novotel. The staff is efficient. The coffee shop is good.

This hotel is a star! Wonderful reception when I arrived & very quick, efficient check in. I stayed 3 nights in a standard king room & was very happy with the room, except the air con was not great, Even though it was cold outside, the room was really warm & the aircon didn't seem to have any effect. The...

My mother, sister, niece and I chose this hotel for a Girls' overnighter. It is possibly one of the best locations you could ever ask for! We needed to get to the Distillery District and walked no more than 10 minutes. Union Station was less than 10 minutes in the other direction. There are several pubs and restaurants very close...

Good service, overpriced, old rooms that have paint falling off walls in bathroom. Good location but overall just barely average hotel. There are many better hotels in the area. The hotel could use a makeover.

We arrived early evening and were seen immediately by a very friendly, happy and professional member of the reception team. A very quick and efficient check in was completed which was highlighted by a free room upgrade. We were given directions to our room along with instructions on the lift operation. I am not sure if there are Porters available,...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
