The Omni King Edward Hotel receives high marks for its elegant and spacious rooms, though a few guests have noted inadequate lighting and noise disruptions. The staff's professionalism and attentiveness are frequently commended, even if there are occasional delays in service. While the hotel's cleanliness is generally celebrated, some minor oversights have been mentioned. Its prime location garners consistent praise for easy access to attractions and transit. The amenities add to the luxurious experience, but opinions on value are divided, with some criticism directed at soundproofing and Wi-Fi, given the premium pricing.

Fantastic! The staff I encountered were all kind and empathetic -- it seemed like they really cared about the guest experience. Air Canada lost my luggage, and the hotel was helpful in supplying me some toiletries and directing me to the Eaton Center shopping mall to buy clothes.

I was attending a conference that took place off-site, but we had nightly cocktail receptions and a gala dinner on the last night, which was truly amazing -- live jazz music, amazing food beautifully presented, and an elegant setting. Room service was also amazing - fast and extremely tasty. The bar is upscale and I was pleased they have a good selection of non-alcoholic drink options.

I requested a quiet room, and received 1044. This room sort of faces an alley, so there wasn't much street noise. It is located next to the elevators, and I could hear the motor move all night, but I think it was still better than having to deal with street noise, given how busy the area is.

Next time, I would love to try high tea and the spa.

I stayed at the King Edward Hotel in December as part of an office Christmas party event. I opted to stay in a room which granted Club Lounge access and it was a wonderful experience.

The Services: The staff was remarkably friendly and attentive to details. They made sure that we had everything we needed during this first visit ever to this Toronto institution. The staff at the Club Lounge in particular made sure that we had everything we needed.

The Room: the Premier Room was very spacious and comfortable. These types of room grant access to the Club Lounge and is worth the upgrade considering you get access to superior amenities in the room, turndown service, and complementary snacks at the Club Lounge including premium alcoholic drinks and coffee. I only with the room would be brighter.

The Ballroom: The staff who served at our Christmas party was all very friendly. The Ballroom on the top floor is worth a special visit and is a very elegant space. The food was delicious.

If you are in Toronto and require a hotel room, strongly consider staying at the King Edward Hotel. It is one of Toronto's finest luxury hotels and its staff and historic pedigree makes a visit worthwhile.

I live in Toronto and needed to find a place to work remotely in this neighborhood on a random Thursday. I tried the Starbucks on Yonge and the ONE King West lobby (people were nice but their wifi didn't support my needs). I ended up here, and it couldn't have been better! Light, inoffensive music was playing, staff were super kind not only to me, but to each other and all other guests. Their seating is high-backed providing privacy for video meetings, comfortable and plush fabrics helped set the vibe, and I got lots of work done since the free wifi was strong and reliable. Highly recommend hanging out here if you're a business professional or if you want to feel expensive.

Step back into the 19th century in this beautifully appointed hotel. The lobby and restaurants are especially well decorated with a fine mix of materials and accent pieces. The guest rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. Well located near the entertainment district, government and business sectors, this is a choice property for the discerning tourist or business traveller.

Overall I liked the Hotel, great location, couldn'tbe better, easy access to tube, tram and walking anywhere, nice helpful staff, heads up to the Concierge, he's amazing, however, there was some things that put us off, there was some wrapping on our room floor from previous guests, the rooms lack some things I consider basic, a bit more light, too much carpet, toiletries in big bottles not small plastic ones, windows that open for fresh air, more options for room service at a bit more affordable price and a buffet breakfast also at a more affordable price, among others. But this is OK there's plenty of breakfast choices around it for far less money.
My toilet had to be repaired, it leaked water all over the place. Had the red message light on the phone on for 3 days without any messages pending. The sink's plug didn't work the first day. The air con was extremely noisy so we had to have it off and wifi worked well but it is a paid service. All in all not the quality you expect on a hotel this expensive. Staff were very nice and attentive.
I would chose a different option next time.

Stayed for 3 nights on business. Original room did have a smell to it that we had to request a change. So there is some truth to the complaints of some mildew smelling rooms. Once we were moved to a different room, we were able to enjoy our stay.

Our room was good size and although a little dark, we were quite comfortable. The rooms are on the darker side but not to the point I could not put on my makeup or my vision was impaired in any way like have read in other reveiws. The hotel went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and accommodated our need for extra sheets etc. just about anything we requested.

Great location, beautiful lobby and clean sufficient gym. Not a fan of the food here though. Great independent coffee shop adjacent to the hotel and Tim Hortons is across the street (but I don't know what all the fuss is about).

All in all we had a really good stay at a reasonable price.

Spent a couple of nights with my family here, and paid over a thousand dollars for a luxury suite. I didn't mind the extra charges for a roll-away bed, or the late check out charge, but it's a complete rip of to print boarding passes in their business centre i.e. $ 6.95 for 15 minutes plus $ 2 for each colour page printed, so 4 boarding passes would cost $ 15! I complained, and was basically ignored.

I had to go to Staples down the street and got it done for a few cents.

Every other hotel I have stayed in the past 30 years provide this service for free. Left a bad taste, will not return, and I travel through Toronto frequently. Their nickel and diming will cost them thousands in lost future revenue.

I have always made the Omni my go to hotel when staying in Toronto, and it’s always been the first hotel I recommend friends. The front desk staff has always been exceptional and super friendly to make you feel right at home, and they always were super accommodating to make for a great stay.

I’ve never had to deal with their customer service prior, but now after the horrible experience I’ve had, it makes me never want to stay there again. I stayed there and prepaid for my room at the very beginning of March, and before my stay was even done they charged me the same amount for a second time. When speaking with accounting they said it should clear within a couple days. It never did, and now it’s been three months going between Toronto and their head offices and reaching out on their website and Instagram with nothing done, except having to explain the issue 20 times. Each week I’m promised I’ll have a receipt emailed to me of the refund within 48 hours and then again I have to call the following week saying no refund has been issued. This experience and being bounced back and forth and having to hold for hours, with promises made each time and the same apologies, but then no actions done is ridiculous. This is how they handle complaints??? Especially during this time. And then to speak with friends I’ve sent there who have been double charged before as well for stays?!? This has really left such a bad taste in my mouth for how they handle their business. I’d advise anyone booking here to make sure to not leave the property with unresolved issues, because you might still have these issues 3 months later.

It was a toss up between Omni and another historic hotel a few blocks away. Ultimately, decided on Omni due to recent glowing reviews, and I’m glad I did.

We reserved a premier room based on the description, and was given a premier room different from what we expected. From thereon, we were floored at the lengths they went through (Greg, the manager, in particular) just to make sure we were satisfied with our accommodations. This despite not having top loyalty status (because yes, let’s face it, the best service is usually enjoyed by those with top status), and despite saying we were fine where we were because we were tired from the trip and did not want to deal with switching rooms,

From making sure the food allergies were clearly communicated to the kitchen when we first ordered room service (they even followed up after the food was delivered to make sure everything was fine), to the level of service at Mokara Spa, to the very friendly bellhops and front-desk staff, to the very nice thank-you note left by Flordeliz (housekeeping), they made us feel like we were the only guests at their hotel. A simple question about whether their pillows are available for purchase went from the front desk, to the duty manager, to the housekeeping manager, and then they made sure to give me the answer the next day.

Valet service wasn’t available due to covid, but parking is in a building right next door. The hotel is walking distance from Eaton Centre and restaurants. Shopper’s Drug Mart is a block away for snacks, water, and other essentials.

Now, about the room. The size and layout of the rooms, at least the deluxe and premier ones, are not all the same, so be specific about the room you want. We ended up in a spacious interior deluxe room with 2 beds. It has a separate seating area with a couch and coffee table. The big bathroom has a walk-in shower with glass doors, not w tub/shower combo with shower curtains. The other deluxe room with 2 beds we saw has a layout and size of a typical hotel room.

If service and cleanliness are big factors when you’re looking for a hotel in Toronto, look no further than the Omni King Edward.

My mother and I were there for a couple nights, weather was cloudy, drizzle both days so a higher floor wouldn't have offered any sights. Foyer/reception area is lovely, huge, with lots of comfortable seating around and had the most beautiful Christmas tree.

We were on about the 6th floor with office & street views, lovely big room with two double beds, a lounge area with sofa and chairs, big bathroom with a tub. Housekeeping was spotless, excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Not a lot of street noise. This stop was the middle of our trip and it was such a nice, calming, luxurious space to just relax in. All staff extremely helpful :)

Small restaurants and stores dotted around, with a couple of large department stores only 2 or 3 blocks away (a 7 min walk maybe). Umbrellas supplied by hotel. We ate dinner twice at the in-house restaurant. I had the butter chicken both times, it was so delicious and tender. Most other meals were had at the mall while we were out.

Short walk to the Hockey Hall of Fame was a bonus. Great location.
