The Comfort Hotel has basic rooms generally within the $170 to $230 price range depending upon how you book. The rooms are basic and clean. The public areas are adequate as well but everything could use a makeover. The neighborhood is not dangerous but I felt it was a bit sketchy - primarily because of all of the "Tobacco Shops"...

Hotel is close to the subway, Yonge street and Bloor. Lots of nice restaurants and shopping close by. The hotel itself is a little rough around the edges but decent for the price. Reception was helpful and friendly. Would recommend to others.

Hotel is in a great location, close to subway and within walking distance of many points of interest, beds were very comfortable, room was fairly clean. I say fairly because the building inside seems old and could use a bit updating but not bad. If you do decide to stay here DO NOT get a room near the stairway because...

The hotel is old but well maintained, is also clean. The cons- small bathroom, no fridge, gym nor pool. Pros- location, location. Bloor-Yonge subway station is 2 minutes away (walk through the Municipal Parking garage to save time). Speaking of the garage, you can park your car there and pay $24 every 24 hours. The hotel has limited below ground...

The hotel is definitely in need of a refurb, that said the place was fine. I spent 11 nights at the hotel. The biggest frustration was that there is no safe, although if you are one of 6 lucky guests you can use a safe which is secured in reception for free. Very impressed that the use of the internet...

This hotel is terrible. The rooms were dirty, carpets, furniture, etc. Wallpaper patched with holes. Air conditioner not working, mold in the shower, old furniture. I don't recommend it at all and for what you pay, there are lots and lots of much better places to stay. Don't Reserve!!!

Hotels in Toronto tend to be pricey mainly because of the limited space and high demand. The Comfort Hotel is in the "average" price range for being downtown. Rooms have been remodeled and are very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff friendly and helpful which is great for out of towners.. Proximity of attractions is a plus and many restaurants near....

I chose this hotel for its price and proximity to the UT campus where I was attending an academic conference. I've traveled all over the world and I usually choose cheaper hotels, thinking 'why pay a lot for a hotel when I'll just be sleeping there?' Well, my stay at this hotel has inspired me to reevaluate that philosophy. After...

The location is very convenient, the price is reasonable, limited underground parking available but despite renovations the property is old. The doors are not at all sound proof so any hall activity is clearly audible. The room was large, the bed comfortable the bath small but functional.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
