Very warm and welcoming B&B*. Gailo was an outstanding host, as well as her husband and daughter. My room was very clean, with NO BEDBUGS, and believe me I checked! Lovely Victorian neighborhood and great pub around the corner called, The House on Parliament. Theres plenty of coffee in the house whenever you need it, but I highly recommend the...

We were a family of five staying for three nights. We booked two rooms and Gailo kindly fitted in an extra mattress for our youngest child. We had a great time here. The facilities were lovely, the location perfect and service exceptional. Gailo and James were very welcoming and had lots of advice for things to do during our stay....

We stayed in the lovely Normandy room, clean, spacious, en suite bathroom, fridge, kettle, ironing board & iron, hairdryer, & ceiling fan. Superbly comfy bed and armchairs and in a pretty, quiet residential street yet close to all amenities. Good fast free wifi. Gailo & James are great hosts and Cabbagetown is charming. We would not hesitate in recommending this...

Situated in a lovely quiet street in the area of Cabbageville, only minutes from Parliament st. with lots of restaurants / bars. Gailo and James are excellent hosts. The room wasn't big, but sufficient for our needs. Our room had the shared bathroom, but we didn't had any encouter with the other guest, so it felt like a private one...

I have nothing but good things to say about this B&B! We spent two nights here, and did not want to leave! I would give them 10 stars if I could! Location: It's right in the heart of Cabbagetown- quaint and cute neighbourhood with lovely older homes with taste. Lots of restaurants and cute coffeeshops around, and it's a decent...

I stayed at this B&B last week and I had an amazing time. Mrs and Mr Borland where very welcoming. The place is ultra clean, the location is quiet and there only three rooms so you feel like at home. It is then very easy to connect with the other residents. If you want to go to Toronto, do not...

I was only there from approx 10:30 pm and out the door by 6 ish am so had little interaction with Gailo and her spouse. They were both extremely pleasant but we only spoke in passing. The room was lovely and clean. I was disappointed that breakfast was not provided however, had I looked closer at their site, I would...

Jaycee - thanks for your comments. *I now have fresh milk available for guests. *Yes - each room has its own fridge - often guests do not open their closet doors during their stay, and miss seeing them! *I have had a little word with Bijoux re nipping guests if they stop stroking her - she is trying hard to...

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Cabbageville in April 2015 whilst on a business/leisure trip to Toronto. The welcome which we received from James and Gailo was fantastic (we are South African) and we were immediately made to feel at home. In fact, throughout the visit our hosts went out of their way to ensure that our every...

I stayed here with my husband while in Toronto on business in the middle of a very cold winter and this was a cozy and quaint place to return to after very long days. Clean and well kept with very kind owners.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
