We had an amazing experience and really enjoyed our stay. First, the location is great. It is right by the CN tower and close to everything and we walked everywhere, even to Chinatown. Second, the club lounge is awesome. Breakfast is tasteful and nightly socials are plentiful. Third, the room is big and the beds are comfortable. Every staff member is nice and kind. Check in and check out processes were quick and efficient. When we visit Toronto again, we will definitely go back to this hotel.

TL;DR - dirty duvet, slow check-in, no welcome, key card issue, no water bottles and barely anything in the room, bath products that smelled like old lady perfume, lines for everything, no soundproofing, mosquitoes by the pool, staff play favorites, no checkout bill, no phone service Horrible experience. The only positives were the concierge lady Anna, who was so helpful and knowledgeable and patient, as well as the security guard. The rest was a complete disaster. For our 4-day stay, our check in took 20 minutes. No line. Not what you want after an international flight with delays. The receptionist just kept typing away. No welcome to IHG, no thank you for being a member, no here's how to connect to Wi-Fi no here are our amenities, and no this is your room type. Everything, I had to ask him once he was done typing for 20 minutes. It took so long that I ate all my snacks from the flight, watched 3 other groups finish their check-ins, and answered a few work emails. When I gently asked if everything was okay, he said the delay was to combine my reservations, but it was really because he messed up and I had to enter my card 5 times when he kept starting over. We got to the room, which had a strange view of the base of the CN Tower, not much of a river view. The bed was comfy and that was it. We had to call for utensils and even the door sign, and they gave us a wrinkly one that looked like it was 10 years-old. They weren't sure if they had band-aids. There were also no water bottles. At 11pm, we asked where we could buy water and they said it was in the room. We said we never got any, so they reluctantly gave us 2 bottles. Also, the duvet was nasty. Underneath the cover, which slipped off after 2 days, we saw it had makeup, oil, and marker stains! The part I hated most was actually the toiletries! They smelled so bad, like an old lady's perfume. People have scent and skin allergies to this stuff. I asked the concierge if they had other lotions and she kindly shared hers with me, but I ultimately had to buy another lotion and shampoo. In my 10+ years of travel, I've never had to do that, especially at an Intercontinental. Also, I know they are trying to be eco-friendly but the bottles are huge plastic ones and our shampoo and lotion were crusted over, not to mention other guests could contaminate them, which grossed me out more. There are biodegradable bottles out there. This is just IHG corporate being cheap. Next, there were lines for everything - lines for the elevator, lines for the restaurant, lines to check in. I almost lost my cool because our key card stopped working in the middle of our trip and the line to check in was 20 people deep! I kid you not - see the photo evidence. We approached the person sitting at the desk, who curtly told us to wait in line, to which I started asking the concierge and security for a fix. I was not about to wait 1+ hour to fix their mistake on a vacation that had already started. I was also really worried that someone was in our room! Thankfully, the security guard was nice enough to update my card. This still wasted a good 20-30 minutes during our trip and messed up our plans since places close early. The rooms are poorly designed. There was no soundproofing. A few geniuses decided to have a 30-minute conversation in the hallway until someone down the hall told them to shut up and keep it moving. They did it again the next day. We heard almost every word. Fixtures don't turn on with the main switch at the entryway. There was no outlet or USB on my side. For some reason, they lock the fridges. If you want to use the mini fridge to store food, you have to unzip it. I then had to explain at checkout that we didn't use anything in the mini bar. They also tried to charge for late checkout - $30 for 1 hour and $50 for 2 hours - even though it's free for Platinum members upon availability. On Saturday, we tried to go to the pool. It was packed with families, which was fine, but there was a woman splaying across 3 chairs with a butt cheek hanging out, and there was no lifeguard or staff nearby to say something. We also saw mosquitoes in the spa area and near the pool, which was off-putting. We later tried to go to the bar, which said they weren't serving drinks or coffee anymore, not even water, but they brought tea for old ladies who arrived after us. At checkout, I was not provided a copy of the bill, only an email confirming the room charge. We had dry cleaning for 2 items, and a bill would have been nice but they didn't check. When I saw the charge on my card, I honestly forgot and then tried to call internationally to figure it out. I was disconnected twice when they transferred me and then placed on a 15-minute hold. Eventually, I remembered, but what kind of service is this? This Intercontinental is completely missing the character, service, and amenities that make it a luxury brand.

Very nice hotel in Toronto. Great location for tourist sites, sporting events, and the train station. We took the train to Ottawa. Hotel was clean and the front desk was accommodating. The restaurant is expensive, but there are many food options in the area. I would stay here again. Free bottles of water would be a nice addition for weary travelers.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring Toronto. It’s minutes from the CN Tower, the aquarium and the harbourfront. Rooms are modern and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The pool and fitness centre are good and seldom busy. I had the pool to myself on a couple of occasions Every member of staff I met were friendly and helpful esp David on the front desk. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel

The hotel is in downtown Toronto, so I would expect to pay $300 or so a night. The actual price was $550. The room was quite large with two queen beds and very basic neutral decor. They charged $30 a night for a third person in the room, but there were only two glasses and two bathrobes; nothing extra for the third person. The bathroom had no fan, the tub was slippery and there was no bath mat, and the tub was not cleaned daily. Shampoo, conditioner and lotion were in 450 ml bottles and there was a carefully worded warning printed on paper saying that you will be charged if you take them home....even though they've been used by others and are not full. There are no vending machines for soft drinks or snacks in the hotel. (There's a convenience store a few steps to the left of the front door that is open long hours. The hotel staff won't tell you about it; they want you to use the over-priced mini bar.) There is no info about the hotel in the room; you have to scan a qr code or call the desk for information. The pool is nice and there is a spinner to dry suits, but there are no change cubicles, so you have to change in a room with others of the same gender. At the restaurant a 2 egg breakfast with toast, meat and hash browns is $24 and coffee is $6. We ate at the food court that is in the basement of the building across the street. In general, if this were a moderately priced hotel, I'd give it a better rating, but for $550 a night I expected a LOT better.

We stayed here as the final part of a trip to Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and Toronto. In the other 3 cities, we stayed at Fairmont hotels but this hotel outshone all of them. The hotel was busy and check-in was quite slow but all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the Concierge (Anna). We were allocated Room 1100 which was a corner room with windows on two sides and views of the Harbourfront, the Railway Museum, Toronto Blue Jays stadium, Union Station (which was only two blocks away) and the CN Tower which was almost next door. The room was extremely comfortable for sleeping and generally relaxing and the temperature was easily controlled. The housekeepers did a great job of maintaining the room and we would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.

As soon as we approached them to checkin they said that our booking was canceled without informing us or sending an email and they treated us like we were lying about booking in the first place until we showed them the confirmation number, then we had no choice but to book a different room with them and they charged us extra and they did not add breakfast even though it was included in the previous booking and we requested it! We were also loyalty members! We also requested a higher floor and good view and again our request was ignored! Worst customer service by Danish and another girl!

Pictures make the hotel look better than it is. That being said it's a great hotel. Yes, the rooms are definitely dated in someways and just kinda thrown together. Lamp near our chair was plugged into the wall but the chose to run the wire under the carpet. One side of the bed didn't have any outlets. TV was hit and miss and to what channels came through. Carpet is very old. Bathrooms are beautiful. Beds are comfortable (we had a king bed). Desk and accent chairs were nice. Hotel amenities are definitely expensive. Breakfast buffet was 70ish for 2 people. Thankfully there is a tims and mcdonalds across the street underground. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Close to union Station, rogers centre, cn tower, ripleys aquarium.

I wanted to try the One Rewards from IHG (I am already a satisfied Marriott member) and looked for a great location downtown for me and my IT peers. We decided to book the Club level for more privacy and a place to chilax. We arrived late. Check in from Pavlos was smooth. He explained our privileges and provided us with some hidden gems of the city. Most of the items served at the Lounge were delicious and the service from Antoinette reminded me the JW Marriott in New York. Overall a cute experience with (finally) human interaction from the Club peers at the InterContinental. I thought hotels are cold places. Pavlos and Antoinette changed that.

Such a great family hotel. Ideally located downtown for all Toronto has to offer. Really welcoming and accommodating to children. Front desk staff is lovely and helpful. SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT to Anna the concierge who went above and beyond in making our family weekend one we will never forget. She communicated with us before our arrival and made sure everything was perfect during our stay. All the staff at this hotel are gems. Thank you! We will be back :)
