Wonderful area, central for everything I wanted to do...Beautiful host, and most comfortable bed I ever slept on...soft and I slept like a baby. I would recommend to all this hostel and everything I needed was available.

The accommodation is clean and everyone I met there was kind and friendly. The owner goes above and beyond to assist her guests, which was the most impressive part of the experience for me. She is sincere and genuinely seeks ways to ensure her guests get to where they need to go, are well fed, and well informed. When I...

I went for the third time to this place (my first time was 2 years ago, the second was in May of this year). Again I enjoyed the cozy, comfortable, clean place, the healthy food and cheerful atmosphere that make it so pleasant to stay (and without breaking your wallet). There is so easy and quick access to downtown Toronto...

First and foremost, forget the general hostel experience, because you don't get that here. It's an unusual mix of B&B, hostel and homestay, but with the best of it all. I stayed for a week after not being able to find anything downtown, and was a little hesistant when I first saw the description and considering it is priced a...

This is not a professional hostel. This woman just thought she'd create extra income by renting out the bunk beds in her tiny, overheated cramped little apartment, which is in the middle of nowhere. She sleeps in the bunk beds as well. You have to take buses and trains to get downtown and the whole expedition takes around 45 minutes....

It has been just over a year since I have stayed here but I must say Roxie has definately made a lasting impression on me. She made me feel at home from the second I got there until the second I left. Always made sure I was comfortable and knew where I was going. In fact I had such an...

Me and mine mother have enjoyed staying at this hostel. We had to get used to it first but Roxy had showed us otherwise, so we stayed (6 days). With her kindness en personal attention she takes good cares of her guests. She gives answers to your questions or helps you given it otherwise, and she knows a lot. We...

Staying in York-Crosstown

Neighbourhood Profile
York-Crosstown
York-Crosstown is a sleepy area of Toronto dotted gorgeously with hills and farmland, stately homes and parks. An affluent district in parts, the stately houses at Baby Point along Jane Street are especially breathtaking, and make for a lovely wander on a clear day. Parks are bountiful in York-Crosstown, which makes it a vibrant area for outdoor play and sports, providing a break from the hustle of Toronto's busy, jam-packed city center. For a little spice after a walk in the park, the Little Jamaica area of York sports cheap, authentic food from the Caribbean. This area is restful and more orientated towards outdoor activity and the exploration of nature.
