Well me and he wife decided that we wanted to see if we would be able to get across the border from The USA. We heard that if you had a dui conviction Canada would not let you in. Well we took a weekend drive to find out. We got pass the border with no problem at all! So now... More

We thought we would stay here again for our anniversary as we had our reception here. We were excited until my husband called to confirm if we could get an early check in. They informed us we didn't have a reservation. Somehow they lost it, and had already rebooked the room. The hotel was fully booked so we didn't even... More

I've stayed here on two occasions and I'd come back, although it may not be up to everyone's standards. The hotel staff is friendly and the beds are clean and comfortable. The shower had someone else's hair on the walls which i wasn't totally impressed with, and the shower pressure was absolutely terrible, I actually had to go to the... More

I love history and if you want something with personality instead of modern & chic then choose the Prince Arthur! Gorgeous location overlooking Thunder Bay's waterfront and an incredible view of the ships and islands if you have a lake view. The storied elegance of this aging rail hotel is still there in the grand staircase, mouldings, window sills and... More

My family and I spent 3 nights at the Prince Arthur in a waterfront room. The room was surprisingly large! Sure, there were a few up-keep things that needed to be tended to, but the place is an historic hotel. It's old! Given the age, it was in pretty good shape. The location was fabulous for all of our needs.... More

We have never written an unfavourable review before. The upside was that the front desk receptionist was lovely and there was a breakfast. We got a room at fairly short notice when most hotels were booked. This is maybe have been a grand old lady in her time but it's in a poor state now. Our room was large but... More

You can tell that this property has seen better days. There are loads of potential. Staff is wonderful, as is the situation. However, the building needs a fecelift. The lobby is not up to standards. The hotel must have been a swank place in its heyday. It would be lovely if it were to revive. You have all my sympathy... More

I enjoyed this quaint hotel very much. Wonderful view, great location near the waterfront. The staff were pleasant. A refreshing break from the chain hotels that are the only option in so many cities. An old-fashioned hotel for those for whom a water slide isn't the most important hotel feature.

This hotel reminded me a great deal of The Victoria in Galway Ireland, an old once elegant hotel that has become run down and worn out in dire need of some TLC (and a little money). Unbelievably, we paid the same rate for this hotel as we did for the much superior Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. How is this... More
