My wife and visited for a weekend getaway and loved it! This is a beautifully restored home built in the early 1800s. Our host was very welcoming and the ability to make ourselves coffee and tea anytime day or night with her Keurig was wonderful! Breakfast was delicious and everything was done perfectly. We will be returning!

When we arrived at the schoolmaster's House, we were immediately pleased with our decision to go the B&B route as our experience started with a warm greeting from Elsie Mae as we returned from a...

Elsie Mae is a gracious hostess, she welcomed us into her B and B and immediately we were made to feel at home and what a home it is!!!! The old schoolmaster's house is a gem, tastefully decorated with period furniture, yet all of the modern conveniences, wifi, shower, tv, and air conditioning! No expense was spared to make this...

Elsie-Mae is a wonderful hostess. We stayed in the upstairs Gardenview room - true to its name! The house is lovely, and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Our room was clean and the bed and pillows super comfortable. The breakfast that Elsie-Mae prepared was divine. Extremely filling, flavourful and absolutely divine. The other guests share the table with you as...

We stayed two nights with my two daughters. I love any old house and this didn't disappoint. Features such as original door hardware, wooden floors, claw foot tub, things you will never get In a cookie cutter hotel. We stayed in the Porter Suite which has two separate bedrooms and a small common living area. This is great for giving...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to The Schoolmaster's House, circa 1818. As former tutoring home for Empire Loyalist families in the 1880's, we are ideally situated at the heart of Niagara on the Lake Wine country. Just a short stroll from the theaters, shops and fine dining of Canada's prettiest Town. Our B&B has been exquisitely and faithfully restored, one of the early nineteenth century Niagara on the Lake Bed and Breakfasts. This is the ideal home away from home from which to begin and to finish your day. Enchanting bed accommodations ensure you'll wake well rested and feeling refreshed prior to venturing forth to walk, hike, bike or drive our scenic parkways, vineyards, tree-lined boulevards and lake front parks. Jason and Elsie Mae are the new proud owners of this heritage Ontario home. They invite you to explore their Niagara on the Lake B&B and to spend time with them during the theater season. This Historic Niagara on the Lake bed and breakfast contributes to the wonderful character and unique flavour in the Old Town. ... more   less
